Ambrose & the Saturday crew here today made it a great place to grab a bite! Chicken strips, burgers, shakes..... tasty, hot and fresh. Great energy and atmosphere with these guys here. Saturday and Sunday I don't eat as healthy as I do during the week so breakfast was Zips. Ms. Cali helped my morning along and didn't mind helping me with my meal recording which she didn't make me explain its medical. She helped my morning and made me feel normal. BLESS HER! I went thru the drive thru on February 2nd at 8pm. I ordered clearly a papa Joe loaded with grilled onions, 2 corn dogs extra crispy, and a tub of fries. The lady asked me to repeat my order again and I took my time saying it to make sure she got it right. And I want to add the fact that everyone working is required to also have a headset on so they can drop the food as it is ordered. I know that because I used to work there. It also took them several minutes to greet me and take my order. I waited behind two cars to get there food and I paid for my food at 8:14pm and I realized on my receipt that it was not what I ordered but instead a tub of fries, a regular tater tot/jojo, and a papa joe. I waited 25 min until my food was ready and in that time there accrued 3 people in line after me and one of those people had left because of the wait time. When she presented my food she said it was a papa Joe, a tub of fries, and a tub of jojos. Which isn’t even what was on the receipt and I explained to her that’s not what I ordered. She put the food on the counter and re asked for my order which I said a papa Joe loaded with grilled onions, 2 corn dogs extra crispy, and a tub of fries. She read it back to me and as she was about to walk back to give the cooks the order I said wait a second did you just say Jo joes again? She did fix my order but the corn dogs were not extra crispy because they came to me to soon. I know it’s hard to get good workers but there was 3 people in the grill/ fryer pit and one guy refilling the coolers. I really hope zips can get a handle of this and that the GM Mike can train these people as seriously as he has trained me in the past. Not a good day to go here. Did drive through. Took over 35 minutes to get one hot dog. Only had 2 cars in front of me. Cars were leaving the line behind me. They had ordered but not paid yet. Best milkshakes in Spokane. After my dad had a stroke, milkshakes were one of the only things he could and would eat. We tried chocolate milkshakes from every fast food place in Spokane Valley (and some from Spokane proper, too) and Zips was the standout favorite. We sometimes visited multiple days in a row just to get him a milkshake (well, and us one too of course.) They also have excellent fries, onion rings, and burgers and I usually liked their chicken strips, too. Establishment doesn't care about customer experience. Ordered a combo and asked to substitute drink for a shake. I was expecting I might have to pay a little extra. When she asked what size I wanted...I said small. Then she came back and said you sure you can get a medium or large. Making it sound like it's the same price either way for size. I said ok let's do a medium then since it's the same price. Got charged an additional $5 and the $5.99 to make it a combo. All while a sign on the drive up window said 50% off shakes any size from 2-6pm. I was there around 5:36pm. I could of bought a fry and shake separately for less than $10.99 with the happy hour deal going on. Employee didn't bother to say anything or let alone tell me no it's more money for a medium. Twice, yes twice, I've come here and sat in the line with zero response for over five minutes and I was forced to leave. Once I even came to the window and they forgot about me, but did offer the burger for free. Now I've got the the business messaging me. Yeah I'm sure. Fix your business, why would I make that it. I was there yesterday and we waited OVER five minutes at the menu and nobody in front of us at all. Watch your cameras and fix what's broken. The Zips on Bowdish charges more money then the menu items at the Zips by Valley Fredmeyer. Drive the 10 minutes to the other Zips restaurant. I will not be returning to the Bowdish location. At Bowdish, I got 2 burnt peices of dry cod when I paid for 3. The 6 Mozzarella sticks were 2x the price of the Zips by Spokane Valley Fredmeyer, 2 miles East on Sprauge.What a rip off. I’m not normally one to write reviews. And I’ve been to this location before and it was pretty OK. This morning I stopped and got a bacon cheeseburger only ketchup, mustard, and pickle large fry with seasoning, salt, and a large Dr Pepper. When I left the establishment, my bacon cheeseburger had no cheese on it. The bacon was dry and brittle. There was no seasoning, salt, or normal salt on the fries. Food is good, you'll be lucky if it comes out hot. Their service is super slow, possibly understaffed. Every time I come here I give them the benefit of the doubt, but they get even slower!
