WAOW! What a find.. I walked straight past this shop yesterday and it didn't really seem like anything special however this morning walking through Clive square the Napier urban market was on and I noticed this Croissant loaf. (Also grabbed a cinnamon, and a creme fraiche Croissant) 🔥🔥🔥 Completely exceeded my expectations with nice crispy, flaky pastry... fluffy inside and I'd go as far as saying it's as good as the famous lune croissanterie in Melbourne! The sourdough loaves all looked great too.. I'll have to go back and try the cheese and jalapeno (and a pie or 2)..... Stay tuned 😉
I’ve been to a lot of bakeries all around the world. But I have never had a truly authentic French croissant outside of France. Until now. Yeast Coast is a delight with plenty fluffiness, crispiness, and flavor. Can’t recommend this place enough. Service Take out Meal type Breakfast Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5

What a freaking good bakery that is ! Absolutely 5 Stars. This is real bread with real techniques and savoir-faire that you can taste in every bites, not your average Kiwi white bread from the supermarket with no taste and no nutritional value. The croissant is next level, perfectly flaky and buttery. One of the best I've had even being from France myself and having tried hundreds of croissants back home. The sourdough loaf is delicious and stays fresh and yum for a few days. The focaccia is so good, fluffy and oily. The pain au chocolat is my kids favourite (tough the 2 chocolat bars are very often on top of each others instead of next to each others separately). The loaded bread once sliced at home disappears in seconds as everyone jumps on it. The olive sourdough loaf is also veeeery good. The baguette is absolutely legit and delicious. So many possible sandwiches with it but I go with a bit of butter and ham, my favourite (number1 sandwich in France). Also if you did not finish the baguette, just toast it, add butter and jam and you're up for a delicious snack. JUST GO THERE AND SUPPORT ! You're lucky to have some real good bread in Napier. Also available every sunday in Hastings at the farmer's market. Maybe the only downside is that some stuff like the pies and sausage rolls aren't made by them so I never tried because of that but it doesn't mean anything bad and they're maybe still delicious. Though, I'm sure they'd be even better if they were made by them directly. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We buy Yeast Coast bread at the Hastings market on a regular basis. Super fresh, top quality bread. We've tried a selection and haven't been let down yet. The focaccia has the power to change your life forever.

Delicious sourdough, I love the tinned sourdough and usually get it sliced. Completely different from supermarket bread, tastes fabulous and stays fresh for ages
We were in Napier for three days, tried the sourdough loaf - highly recommended - on the first day, and ended up going there everyday to get our bread - tried Ciabatta & Turkish pocket, all excellent quality. The shop doesn't look like much, but the bread definitely artisan.

They make the best sourdough sandwich the world has ever seen. I have to go early to buy it, because some OTHER so-and-so always buys it if I got after 12pm. If I find you, other so-and-so I am going to be SO CRABBY WITH YOU. *cough* Sorry, back to the review. They make excellent breads, pastries and other delicious things. Friendly staff too. Super highly recommended except for the person that keeps buying the sourdough sandwiches ahead of me, you should go and get a pie from the dairy mate, it's just not on. Also that goes for the Custard Pie eater too.

Great small bakery. I was disappointed to go there at 7:20 (when it opens at 7:00) and where nothing was ready. I decided to go somewhere else. I went the next day at 8:00 and it was worth the second try. The chocolate croissant (pain au chocolat) were very good (trust me i’m French) and the Nutella donuts were fully filled with Nutella (nothing compared to other so called Nutella donuts with just the Nut of Nutella in it). Bread and sandwiches were also available and looking good too. I would recommend and I would definitely re-visit when i am back in Napier. The price was also very competitive compared to the closest shops (that was the cheapest pain au chocolat I could find, and for the quality...no brainer).

I read rave reviews about their bread, but we tried their pies. Fantastic pastry with tender steak and plenty of bacon. Son loved the butter chicken pie.
