Google map says it opens at 1130 but I was there earlier and I asked if they were opened and they showed me into the restaurant. I was the first customer in the restaurant and the waitress was quite attentive in serving me. I asked her to recommend and she asked me to try the house specials. The dishes I asked for she will always go to the kitchen to check if it was available. So I ended up ordering the chicken soup and the chicken crepe. Am not sure how it when but somehow the order got wrong and I got more things than I expected. The soup and the crepe was served but later came another plate of chicken and rice. I was not sure what it was but ended up eating it because I knew it was going to be in the bill anyway and ended up getting very full. The meal was good, it was a treat to very local El Salvadorian food and was also very reasonable. Would recommend this place if anyone happens to be doing the Ruta de Flores and stopping at Ataco. Great little spot up the street from the main square in town. Super friendly service and the food was delicious. Stopped in for a late lunch and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Outdoor tables surround a beautiful courtyard. We mostly got tacos but one of us in the group had the gallo in chicha and it got rave reviews. Charming little restaurant just off the main square in Ataco. The menu is full of all the Salvadorean foods! They are well known for their Gallo en Chicha, which was delicious and just the right flavor. The soft tortilla and crispy tacos where both delicious. They have a full bar with lot’s of options, including all the local beers. On top of the great food, the service was above and beyond. Amazing staff!! If you are on Ataco and want some tasty food, give them a try! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–15

Small unassuming restaurant from the outside, delightful garden in the inside. Service was attentive, perhaps because there were no other guests when I was there on a Monday afternoon. They were patient with me despite the language barrier. I had the sopa de gallina after they gave me odd look for asking for sopa de gallo, as if I am too foreign for a dish like that. It was served with warm tortillas and plenty of sauce.

Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. Just came in to have a small soup which the waitress skilfully upsaled to some chicken on the side - clearly using the influency of Spanish of a traveller to increase the bill! The food tasted not good at all, the chicken in itself seemed to be old and just heated up to be served again. At the end an additional charge of $5 for this piece of chicken that I gave to a dog who came asking for food - at least he had a great dinner. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Xochikalko was a wonderful restaurant, that worked to accommodate a large group for an entire week! We are so grateful for their hospitality, incredible food, and wonderful atmosphere! Absolutely recommend!
A great little restaurant right near the main square. We sat in the little garden table in the middle and enjoyed the clear sky overhead and beautiful flowers all around. The Indian chicken dish was a little dry but the steak tacos and the pizza crepe were excellent.
Ordered "Sopa de Gallina" off the menu ($4.50). Was asked if I wanted Gallina or just vegetables. I unassumingly said yes to the Gallina as I wanted the listed chicken soup. As a result of chicken being included, the total bill was $13+. There are better experiences and prices to be had in Ataco. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
