Expensive and Lacking Luxuries - Think Twice Before Ordering.
My recent experience at this hotel bar left much to be desired. Despite the costly prices, there was no remarkable extra service or luxuries to justify the expenses. One prime example was the Nescafé coffee, which was outrageously priced at 5000 MMK. Paying the same amount as a single pack of Chivas drink for a simple coffee left me bewildered.
While I don't mind spending on a good experience, I expected more from a bar charging premium rates. Unfortunately, the lack of value for money and absence of any notable perks were a letdown.
The ambiance of the hotel bar was decent, but it's essential for the management to reevaluate their pricing strategy and enhance the offerings for their patrons. Potential customers might think twice before ordering due to the disproportionate pricing for basic items.
Overall, I'd advise guests to be cautious about the expenses and consider other options unless the hotel improves its services and justifies the high costs.
While I do not seek a refund or an apology, I believe it’s essential to suggest to the hotel officials to reassess their pricing strategy for beverages like Nescafé coffee. Such overcharging might deter customers from enjoying their time at the bar and could potentially lead to negative reviews.

Really chilled environment
Really enjoy the live band and atmosphere here
Food is good and affordable provided with such a great quality
While the cocktail is slightly more expensive
What an amazing rooftop bar! Came here for a chilled drink and the atmosphere is great. Football to watch, great music and brilliantly priced drinks as well as a great view. Also the service and genuineness of the staff is very refreshing having spent two months in Thailand. Will be back again for sure.
Top bar, really liked it. Cheap (even more so when coming from Thailand) prices considering where you are - 3000 for spirits max. We travel fulltime - and like experiences that replicate what we have left behind at home... this place is that, minus the crowds... I hope Mandalay gets the visitors soon!
Ohh and they had Norwich City on the TV... perfect.
Service was good and this bar gives a good view over Mandalay. The staff speaks (limited) English and are very helpful. The food was slightly expensive and average, but maybe the prices where different seeing it was Christmas.
At the New Wave Bar the view to the Mandalay Palace and the Mandalay Hill is stunning. The staff was very friendly and payed a lot of attention for their guests. Can really recommend it!
