The service at this establishment needs to be vastly improved. After being seated you wait and wait to get a waiter. Getting your order takes equally long. Then don’t talk about paying the bill. There is only one station where payments are accepted and you stand in a queue to settle your bill. Please….. let the waiters bring a card machine to your table. This is the 2nd time that I have visited the woolies café in tygervalley and although it is beautifully renovated, it seems the service and meals were better before the renovation. I ordered the papaya split for breakfast which was incredibly small (for the price) and all of the ingredients stated in the menu were not even on the plate. This was very underwhelming and I will definitely not be ordering it again. The previous time I ordered the power oats (I’ve had it numerous times before) which was absolutely disappointing this time around. I managed to take 5 bites before sending it away as it was not pleasant at all. Woolies Café Tygervalley really need to step up their game. I will not be visiting anytime soon. I ordered the crispy potato waffle with poached eggs and mushrooms. My friend ordered the same and hers was cooked and CRISPY. Mine, however, was disgusting, You might as well have put a pile of lumpy mash on my plate! I did point this out to the waitress, who looked at me as if I had lost the plot. Could not eat it. Food and coffee was great. What it looks like however is that they made the kitchen too small for such a large restaurant. They have more tables than M&B but half the size of their kitchen and staff. They would need to increase the size of the kitchen and staff to accommodate the tables. It looks like the ticketing is also broken, we saw the staff look confused in the kitchen and the takeaway coffee might be getting shoved in above the dine-in. We waited about 35min for coffee and more than an hour for food. The noise level is also extremely high. The acoustics is terrible and they would need to install some form of dampening or white noise/music system to lower the overall dB feel. Noisy, Food took very long, almost an hour if not longer and when it came, my chicken burger was burnt, crispy and unappetizing. I preferred a salad instead of chips, but the salad was 2 Tablespoons of salsa on 2 huge letters leafs. Chicken burger was so dry. I was told that they didnt have any beef burgers as that was my first choice. Not a good experience at all. Only thing i enjoyed was my green juice... The new Woolworths Cafe in Tyger Valley is beautifully and tastefully decorated. However the noise level is on another level. It becomes unbearable after a while. By now I would have thought that the noise level problem would have been sorted out. It definitely affects all the customers, as everyone is talking about the noise level in this cafe. What a pity, I do not enjoy visiting this establishment due to the excessive and unbearable noise levels. The food is of a high quality and the service is good. Shocking service. Nonchalant manager. Obviously Woolworths doesn't care that client wait half an hour for their drinks. If you walk out it doesn't matter, because the next victim will walk right in. We had wonderful lunch there, the presentation of the food is beautiful, the staff are friendly and everything was great! I would also recommend their chicken avocado salad it was delicious and their frosted lattes are my favorite! Meal type Lunch Price per person R 50–100
