Food was warm, not hot. We only saw our waitress twice, but she was friendly and busy. When you order something that comes with pancakes, the pancakes are always cold and the syrup is as well. It waz the grossest food I’ve eaten there. I ordered steak and it took r waitress 20 minz or longer 2 come n tell us they were outa steak..OUT OF STEAK!! Go figure!! So I ordered a bacon cheeseburger n it waz gross. The waitress acted like I waz taking up 2 much of her time trying 2 figure out what I wanted cuz I had my heart on steak. So long story short I won’t b back there. A Delightful Turnaround at Village Inn - A Five-Star Experience! After several less-than-impressive visits to different Village Inn locations in the past, I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly impressed with my latest dining experience at this particular branch. The food was a standout - not only was it fresh and hearty, but it also had that excellent taste that makes a meal memorable. It was a delightful change of pace from my previous visits. The staff deserves a special mention for their friendly and welcoming demeanor. Their professionalism and warmth significantly contributed to the overall positive atmosphere of the restaurant. It’s clear that there’s a new energy and life breathing through the company, a rejuvenation that’s both needed and appreciated. Reflecting on the past, I recall my last visit to another Village Inn location, which was disappointing, to say the least. I hate that I didn’t get a picture of the other whole 🥧 pies I’d ordered and picked up, they were beautiful 🤩 (I’ll add pics soon, my daughter has pics of them) This is the slice of Heavenly carrot 🥕 cake that I added to my order (they were Super Friendly too do so) now the reason it looks like so in my pictures, well I’m Type 2 diabetic and I believe in moderately and choices, I love ❤️ the carrot 🥕 cake 🍰 in between the layers of icing 🧁, so I scooped around the icing. Service was fast and friendly, I’ve never dined here as of yet, my daughter recommended them & their pies 🥧. So I ordered 2 pumpkin 🎃 pies 🥧 with whipped cream and a banana 🍌 cream pie 🥧 as well as a strawberry 🍓 rhubarb pie 🥧 ( I’ve never had a strawberry 🍓 rhubarb pie 🥧 in my life) The strawberry 🍓 rhubarb was my favorite 😍, color me surprised 😲 I thought 💭 for certain it’d be the banana 🍌 cream. Excellent place, especially during the day on a weekday. Went there yesterday Tuesday & it was very nice & quiet for the most part. Service was excellent & so was the food. I had the strawberry crepe combo, it was delicious and all of our tables food came promptly. Parking is right in front and there is plenty. I would come back here again. We've eaten at Village Inn many times. Last night was very disappointing. The cooler was blowing despite the cold outside. When a customer asked if the cooler could be turned off, she was told the heater had been running for hours. The server did check their system and soon it was getting warmer...they must have been running the cooler for hours! We ordered soup and asked for a soup spoon. The server said there are none to be found, and she had searched everywhere. We ended up using a teaspoon for the soup. The triple berry pie was old and served with a dirty fork. Finally, in checking our receipt, we were charged more for the pie than was noted on the menu. We probably should have checked our meal prices too. When checking out, we were credited $1.00 for the overcharge on the pies. Not sure we'll return to this restaurant. Thank goodness this terrific little joint was open and serving kitchen made dinners until midnight on a Sunday! We didn't get out of our Denver Performing Art Center show until about 10:45pm. We hadn't eaten since 2 in the afternoon. We adored this restaurant for many reasons on top of this exceptional and exclusive downtown experience.
