A lovely modern Vietnamese restaurant that you will find at Bayfair Centre. We ate out on early Wednesday night so it wasn't full. The staff were tentative and friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive. Pork Belly, that was rich, succulent and flavoursome, good portion. The stir fry rice and prawns were yummy, had this lovely smokey taste, very enjoyable. If you're not a fan of warm pineapple in your food, probably take a miss. We got dessert to go which came in these very oversized containers so looked disappointing at first glance but was more than enough. Price wise, just over $100 for two people which included a couple of drinks. Would we return, definitely. Viet Lane is pretty much our “go to” on a Friday evening when I can’t be bothered. Or I’m already on my second gin. What we love most about here is that it’s consistently excellent food and great value for money. And this week was no exception. For entree we shared popcorn prawns and, breaking away from the usual fresh rolls, chicken skewers. (Top tip, the fresh rolls are excellent but don’t save them and have them the next day. Clearly the word “fresh” is a clue.) The Favourite Husband always insists on telling me the prawns are “so moist” to the point where I may have to leave him behind next time. The chicken skewers were good, a real bbq charcoal flavour. Presentation was a tiny bit negligent. The Favourite Husband had Shaking Beef and it was no surprise that we then had to suffer his commentary about how it wasn’t moving or even trembling. (He’s definitely being left behind next time.) I resorted to my favourite of Hà Nội Grilled Pork Noodles. The depth of flavour with this dish is phenomenal and resolutely remains my favourite. My only issue last night was when the Favourite Husband was asked if he wanted another drink and declined; the server walked away. Hello?! Sitting right here with an empty glass. Don’t make out I’m invisible - please and thank you. Without that it would be 5 stars.

Cute spot in Bayfield mall. Service was a bit lacking and had to ask for the table to be wiped down. Think they'd been busy though so understandable. Food was yum. We had the prawn salad, soft shell crab and Bao. Cocktails were yum Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Prawn Salad

Have dined at Vietlane previously and it was spectacular, we were after something fresh for dinner and ordered take away. We were told the restaurant is busy and the wait would be around half an hour so i thought it was good that they gave us realistic time frames. We ordered the ginger chicken main( soft shell crab salad and a couple of bao buns. Everyone was happy with their orders everything was flavoursome and well presented. I have previously ordered the flaming scallops (spectacular presentation) and the Pork Bun to have dine in before and it was wonderful. Always a great experience Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Best food great service excellent value Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Popcorn Prawn
4 out of 5 for the following reasons; Service; Great wait and drinks staff on the floor- friendly, fast and lingering in the background filling up water glasses. Friendliness; Friendly wait and drink staff. Value for money; today my family ordered three dishes we ordered the beef pho and the chicken salad and I had the pan fried duck salad. Drinks; Coke, and two Vietnamese iced coffee. Cost $67.00 for three drinks and three meals which was reasonable prices for the area. Cleanliness; clean tables, would have given a 5, except the toilets weren't clean when I used the facilities. Overall; will come back because the food is good. If you found my review helpful please give me a thumbs up 👍🏼 and don't forget to follow me on Google Maps as I highlight the sublime and not so sublime goods and services available to us travellers. The food was quite good but the service was disappointing. As you can see from the price this is not a snack bar. There were four servers and the restaurant was half full when we were there. But non of the servers were looking at the guest tables after they served food. One moment all four of them were stuck in front of kitchen counter (waiting for the food at same time?) or doing something else but never looked at the guest tables. We have to seek for the attention for several mins to get some salt and sriracha source. And a plain plate should be given to the fried duck so that one can cut the meat. But they pre-set a small bowl on every table, which makes inconvenient for some dishes. Overall the process of service need to be improved.

This was delicious! Chicken curry was chock full of flavors and left a tingle at the back of your throat. The rice was soft and fluffy great contrast and overall delicious. Popcorn prawns were crunchy and light, the peanut butter sauce was complementary and sweet and sour sauce gave it a zing. Quick and efficient customer service, very polite and welcoming. This place is great.
Nice good food. Some food are served with fire🔥. fried spring rolls were good but quiet small. And it would be great if Hanoi noodle menu can order more noodles extra. Thanks for the good experience👍
Perhaps the best restaurant in Tauranga. We have been about twenty times - I've made my way through most of the menu and my wife has the beef pho every time. You can get a proper, tasty, restaurant-quality and restaurant-atmosphere meal for under $20 here (the food court in Bayfair competes for this price range!) and there are also fancier selections that get up to $32 or $34. Options are diverse and almost all of the dishes have been excellent. We didn't like the mussels that much and the garlic tofu was a bit salty, otherwise no complaints. Hapuka curry, kumara curry, crab salad, pineapple fried rice, boat fish, shaking beef, pho, beef cheek, scallop coconut curry, beef salad (VERY spicy), rolls. Staff are friendly, the place is clean and stylish, the location and parking are great. What more can you ask for.
