Best bakery in greater Wilmington area! Folks you really gotta come out in groves to support this place, tell your neighbors tell your friends...I'm saying that for purely selfish reasons...because it's the real deal! Everything is FRESH BAKED ONSIGHT. Staff is super friendly from the moment you walk in. Weekends you can expect a spread like shown in my pics, on weekdays a smaller set of options until they get enough patrons to make it worth the costs...fresh coffee too! Eat on the outdoor picnic tables in a nice shady yard or take to go. You must try this place. Their chef/butcher also has a custom line of gourmet high end meats...I haven't tried them yet but I'll post more once I do.

I purchase baked items every week at the Hampstead market. I am so happy they are there and I have loved their baked goods. The sourdough bread is awesome. Sadly however they changed the way the make the croissants. They started adding a sweet glaze of some time to the top of all the croissants even the plain ones and the ham and cheese ones. Where before they were perfection they now taste more like donuts than croissants. Who wants sweet glaze on ham and cheese? Hopefully they drop that soon because otherwise they are awesome. I really wanted a good bread to have with my mortadella... So i learned about this place today and my family and I drove 35 min. We bought an italian loaf, 2 challah buns and a cubano bun. We also bought several pastries. I paid almost $50 for all of it. I really would have preferred to send an email but I cannot find one online. I don't think I have ever been so upset and actually angry that I wasted $50 and more than an hour of drive time for such poor quality of food... The italian loaf was so dry and dense. Maybe it was old? I cannot believe they would sell that... They should be embarrassed :/ The challah buns were so dry. A Challah bun! How do you mess that up except that it's not fresh bead... I didn't even try the cubano bun - we cut into it and it was harder than a rock and so dense. :/ We received 2 ham and cheese croissants... no ham and no cheese. Like.. at all. We ate those in the car on the drive home and we said okay maybe its just a mishap. So we try to hazelnut croissant and.... nothing. Zero filling. Just a plain croissant with a few hazelnuts on top. Same with the apple turnover... I mean my wife and I thought this must be insanity and maybe the baker was exhausted baking - but no filling in the apple turnover! We bought 2 chocolate croissants and only 1 of them had chocolate inside... The kids were so disappointed. What a terrible experience. Major waste of our time and money. Their saving grace was the friendly staff - but it doesn't make up for the $50 I spent on bread and pastries that went straight to the trash. I ate my mortadella on sandwich sliced bread from the grocery store instead. Ugh... Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
Shopped here a few times. Over priced.. absolutely but I wanted to support a local business. First time steaks were good, they gave you a little dish of fats and salts to go along with it. Bread was stale. Second time the steaks were so dried out I had to cut about half off it was so leathery, So my $150 steaks were worthless. I called the store, left a message about it and never got a call back. Third time. Same thing. Dried leather meat from sitting in a cooler, bread was not fresh like the girl said. It was days old, I only bought bread because the meat looked so bad. This last time, 3 dead maggots on the bottom of my meat that evening when I went and unwrapped the paper, but it wasn’t dried out like the last Times. We didn’t eat the meat, we tossed it. Something about finding a maggot dead on your meat mills your appetite for it. I also bought a donut. Took one bite and spit it out it was so stale. Tasted like a cheap donut that has sat for 3 days on a plate. I guess they don’t do the fat and salt anymore because I was only given it that first time when they opened. That’s a shame. It was a nice touch. I’ve gotten better stuff at Walmart and that’s saying something. Never ever will I return. I’m not sure how long they will stay in business. The people up front.. nice but dumb and clueless about any product they have or don’t have.

One of the best steaks I've ever had! I got three 9 oz filets and seared them and then finished them in the oven and WOW! Staff was really friendly. This was my first time, won't be my last.
Went two separate times. I’m not very knowledgeable about steaks so going in, I asked how many filets could feed the amount of people I had. The person at the desk could not give me an answer at all, not even a ballpark estimate. This happened again on my second visit.
Love the Kalamata sourdough bread can’t get enough of the croissants. I make a special trip at least once a week to go there. Support a local business and get a treat.
Beautiful steaks and the bread was amazing and baked goods. The focaccia rosemary and garlic is unbelievable!!! Highly recommended, really excited to try the other focaccias! Brown sugar chocolate chip cookies are also amazing!

Just back. I thought that the ridiculously high prices the produce would be baked today but these were nothing of the sort. Rolls were dry and stodgy and at 3 bucks each is insane. Can get better rolls at Food Lion. The young lady that served us was very nice though.

I stopped in about 1 week ago and will not return. There was hardly any bread or pastry available. They had 3 Foccacia on the shelf, and all 3 were burned. The young lady explained what the other 3 types of bread were and one she explained was a German Easter bread with orange and citrus in it. That is definitely not a German recipe, I do know because I lived there. So I picked an Italian loave and 2 chocolate croissants paid 20 dollars!!!! 9 dollars for the bread and 5 for each padtry. That is insane especially considering how bad the bread was, it had no flavor at all.
