My mother in-law was turning 50 and we booked into TieRra! It was a fantastic evening. Our 2 children were unruly, and the weather was hot. The service was incredible and the food fantastic. THEIR COCONUT SHRIMP IS A MUST HAVE. The burger, pizza and nachos were all great as well. We've been there a few times, not oo busy, great food and incredible service. I haven't been to "eat or drink" anything yet, but I can say that the male staff are very unfriendly and pushy. They talk to everyone who walks past the restaurant with sayings like "Come in for a drink, you look, as if you need alcohol." Directly opposite is a bench where I often sit with my husband. I also asked if I could go to the toilet, and a female employee replied in the affirmative. From then on I went to the toilet every now and then, which was never a problem. When my husband, who is in a wheelchair, wanted to go to the toilet (twice), I was informed that this was not a public toilet. Which is fine considering all the tourists, but when an employee that only becomes noticeable after two weeks, then from now on I plead my customary law. Service: 1
I recently had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was absolutely terrible, and it felt like they were actively trying to scam us. First and foremost, the staff automatically added a 15% service charge without even asking us. This is not only unprofessional but also misleading. To make matters worse, they also tried to tack on extra charges to our bill without any explanation. It felt like they were trying to take advantage of us, and the lack of transparency was incredibly off-putting. Overall, I would strongly advise against dining there. The attempt to overcharge without explanation left a very sour taste in my mouth. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $500–600 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

This is the worst restaurant I have eaten at in my life. The owner/manger came out on the street to coax us in and said if we didn’t like our meal he would pay for it. 4-guys, the wait staff was very attentive until they took our orders. I asked for my meal to be made with no onions(I can’t eat onions) and the server said no problem. What was brought to me was fill of onions a tasted like mush. They didn’t offer me anything else, when the bill came, me meal that I didn’t eat and went back was still on the bill and they have required tip and you cannot opt out of. Had I been there by myself, I would have walked out of the place. Do yourself a favour, stay away from here. Go up to 10th, there are better restaurants that are much more reasonable. The service was decent due to there being just one other party in the restaurant. Decent ambiance with just covers of musico. Overall, the food was barely decent. We asked for bbq wings and got buffalo, but didn't complain because it wasn't a big deal for us nor do we complain. We then ordered our entrees ( Maji maji and the ceviche) which both lacked in flavor. The fish tasted like it was cooked without any seasonings and the potatoes that came with the meal tasted sweet like a dessert. Ceviche just lacked any flavor in general. Barely ate our meals and sent them back and the chef stated they had no complaints and ended up paying for the meals we barely ate. Our server was nice enough to give us 20% off. Wouldn't go again. I can't believe it's already my 14th visit to Playa Del Carmen, and this time I stumbled upon an incredible restaurant on 5th Avenue, just a stone's throw away from my hotel. Calling all ceviche enthusiasts, this place is an absolute gem! Prepare to be blown away. The live music added an extra layer of awesomeness to the atmosphere without being overpowering, transporting me back to the vibrant sounds of the 80s. I can confidently say that I will definitely be returning. Don't miss out on this fantastic experience—go and enjoy! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The food is overpriced and it lacks any taste. Save your time and money and go to one of the hundreds of other places at Playa. We tried to send back our food and they told us that they couldn’t do anything about it. The drinks taste horrible too.

This is my go to...I am OBSESSED with their corn soup! It sounds crazy but DO NOT miss out on their wings and burgers!!! You will not be disappointed...enjoy two for one select cocktails. I highly recommend thier mojitos! The service is TOP notch and the people watching and breeze are AWESOME!
Went here for Christmas eve dinner. Extremely disappointed in the service and the food but especially the food. We started off with ordering a mojito (which the bartender forgot to put the rum in) it was one of the most sour mojitos i have ever had. My mom ordered a glass of red wine. They one had one, a Malbec which was awful. We ordered calamari to start which only came 40 min later when our mains arrived. The calamari and fries were freezing cold. I ordered the surf and turf. My mom ordered the rib eye. Both steaks where extremely tough. But the lack of seasoning or at least salt was so underwhelming and disappointing. We both actually had to ask for ketchup because it was so tasteless. Shrimp was okay but also lacking salt. We also had to ask for utensils to eat. And had to flag down the waiter for very basic things like napkins. Overall really dont recommend. Spend your money elsewhere.

We were really disappointed with our dinner here. There was a guy in charge acting like a carnival barker, hollering at passersby... "Hey alcoholics! Come here and drink!" And he would grab women by the arm, kiss their hands, and pull them toward the restaurant. The other servers seemed to be not happy to be there - possibly uncomfortable with his antics. The food was mediocre - fajitas and guac lacked flavor, chips were stale, and there were no fresh salsas. And the mezcal margaritas had very little flavor or alcohol. On top of all that, the price was outrageous. It was a wasted opportunity to dine out, and we extremely regretted not returning to Chiltepin, where we'd been the night before.
