Come here for some rest after a long walk around Ivan Wilson Park. New Zealand cuisine is offered at this bar. Degust perfectly cooked sundaes at Moose Bar & Restaurant. According to the reviews, guests usually like asking for delicious draft beer here. Taste good americano, it's a must while visiting this place. Visitors don't highly appreciate BBQ ribs at this spot. Live music is performed by musicians in the evening. The creative staff welcomes people all year round. We came here for dinner after given recommendations by our hotel manager. Decided to check out their menu. Ordered their signature pork ribs and the the rib eye steak. Also had a local ale to go with it. The ribs were nicely done, soft and well marinated. The sauce that goes with it was a bit sweet but still quite tasty. The rib eye was nicely done and taste great as well. Service was efficient and the restaurant had a good crowd on a Saturday night.

The food was decent. There is an area with gambling machines (pokies) and an area with darts board. Please note, they don’t have darts behind the bar, it’s normally left at the darts board area. Also they do close quite early around 9pm Price per person $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Came in there for dinner with my friends after a long day at Doubtful Sound. We got burgers and steaks. We all really enjoyed the food and my steak was cooked to perfection (medium) with a good serving of fries and peppercorn sauce. We had a few drinks after and found the staff really friendly and welcoming. I went outside for a smoke and had a nice chat with the manager and Chef and loved their upbeat kiwi humor. Long story short if you want a good meal and a few drinks with a nice atmosphere and good service I'd recommend this place. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Staying locally and this was a short stroll from our accommodation and the menu looked pretty good and was priced ok with some reasonable reviews. My wife had the mushroom and halloumi burger and the lady taking the order was kind enough to swap out the fries for a salad (whuch ended up being a coleslaw) and I had the rump steak ordered medium rare (came out medium, but still filled the gap nicely) with a side of veges and fries. Service was order at the bar (food and drinks) and at $54.80 for the food and $20 for a handle of beer and glass of Pinot Gris, we could not complain really. Would go back again. Rated very good rather than average as price for quality we thought fair for pub quality food.

The restaurant food was fine but the drinks and bar service was a let down. I noticed with my Malibu and pineapple that the lady behind the bar went straight to pouring the pineapple juice. Didn't think much of it at the time but then realised there was no taste of coconut/Malibu at all. Also not the slightest hint of a coconut Malibu smell. Went up to inquire and didn't get anywhere so gave the benefit of the doubt. On sitting down and sipping again, was definitely just pineapple juice.... A very expensive pineapple juice. It's also hard to get staffs attention when trying to order a drink. Staff either need to be more attentive or another staff member needs to be hired if they are too busy to serve customers waiting. Price per person $30–40 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4

Awesome family run restaurant and bar. Food was delicious and prices fair. Relaxed, friendly, efficient service. Our group preordered food earlier in the day due to time constraints and the kitchen held up their emd beautifully - food on tables within 2 minutes of sitting down. Love your work, team. Obviously serving us with drinks yesterday afternoon was a bit of a bother for the lady at the bar. No friendly smile, no acknowledgment of anything. Just literally dumped the drinks in front of us and told us how much. Thankfully we could go outside away from her and enjoy the sun and the lake view. A perfect location. We were going to get dinner there but decided that we had had enough of her sparkling personality so took our service and money elsewhere where we felt welcomed. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

I was there 3-4 days ago. Had a lovely dinner with my girlfriend and the only thing that was annoying was a group of around 10 Europeans who were really rude and demanding to the staff despite the staff trying to accommodate for them. But full credit to the staff they were busy and still kept doing a good job even though these people were rude, horrible amd obnoxious to them. Very pleasant atmosphere and the staff were very pleasant and helpful . Large tvs to watch the rugby on . Cold beer and large proportions of food on your plate.
