What can I say? Just read the other reviews, they've already said it already. The chef gave me a few hints about my meal (Don't throw out the oily looking substance on top of the lamb!) and we loved our meals. I've had this place recommended to me by a couple of people and I can see why. Thanks, we'll be back for sure!

Road to South India Tiger Prawns Curry
Picked up my order from the Indian cook house and got to see where all the magic happens, real, fresh and genuine. I feel I got to experience India through the food. I brought a meal box which included a big portion of a main dish and rice with a few sides and a drink. I highly valued what I received for what I paid. Also very lovely service, and an obvious business ran with passion. Would go again.

Love the food. In my opinion, this is one of the best Indian food I have had in New Zealand. We ordered from here 2 days in a row and I already know I want to go back. Ritvick, was a pleasure to speak to and I could tell he is very passionate about his food. He uses fresh and good quality ingredients which you can taste that in his food. I would definitely recommend this place.

Cookhouse Black Label Butter Chicken
My family and I ordered from the Indian Cookhouse tonight, and are highly satisfied. The four of us all ordered our own meals, and we had plenty. Four people could easily share two meals, they are extremely generous with their portions. The butter chicken, tiger prawn and spinach dishes were all fabulous. We all got the boxes which comes with a drink, desert, starters, rice, naan and poppadoms. Best Indian my family have had in Hawkes bay. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Kerala Style Malabar Coconut Chicken Curry
Absolutely Yum. We bought 2x meal boxes. Plenty leftover for next day lunch. It was so delicious. No artificial cream or tomato sauce etc.. that you normally have from Indian food/restaurant. We finally found out what is actually Indian food !!! We are so happy to find out Ritvick. He is an amazing chef.

Tonight was our first time trying The Indian Cookhouse and it did not disappoint! You can taste the flavours and that it is not laden with sugar - delicious! There are two adults, a 12, 11, 10 and 8 year old in our whare. We ordered two meal boxes and the prawns and have left over for lunch tomorrow. The tiger prawns were unreal 👌🏾

Cookhouse Black Label Butter Chicken
That was an insanely good curry. My partner and I had the Butter paneer and the Kerala chicken. What a treat! I never usually leave a comment but this food was truly special and prepared with fresh, delicious ingredients. Wish I was staying in Napier longer so I could try more of his dishes !

I looked this place up on the recommendation of a friend. Very helpful over the phone with suggesting some dishes for dinner. The food is very fresh and the flavors are absolutely amazing. I will be going back without question. Definitely give them a try.

THIS IS IT. This is why I love the internet. Good food and good people will rise to the top! Fresh ingredients, proper Indian food, what a hidden gem. Have a chat to the chef. I won’t give too much away - just don’t look for a shop front; park on the street and walk down driveway.
