We had amazing lunches and dinners in Kalpitiya for a week at The Family Restaurant. Janith and Mangalika are wonderful hosts and cooks. The daily fresh vegeterians curries, vegetables and rice are delicious. Their family is so kind and always ready to make us wonderful meals. Asking them the day before makes it easier, but we were lucky to meet them our first night and have amazing rice and noodles. Thank you so much!!! Awesome vegetarian curry and rice for 4 people - was a total banquet- with some of the best flavours I have tasted during our whole time in Sri Lanka. We let them know the day before that we wanted to come for dinner (as they told us it would take them about 1.5 hours to prepare dinner) - and so when we turned up at the agreed time we were served a fantastic meal. Great variety and more than sufficient quantity (we couldn’t eat it all). Highly recommended - will definitely visit again!! This local run business provides authentic great food to good prices. They prepared food for us via pre order as well so we could have it once we all got back from kite surfing.
