Fantastic cafe! Having brunch with families and the the food was great! The vegetarian salad came with such a big portion with reasonable price. The big breakfast has so many in it and tastes great! Highly recommended and will definitely come back!

We had breakfast before leaving the area. It was included as part of the tour I was doing but seemed good value. There were good options and I enjoyed the waffles and hot chocolate.

Wow, what a dining experience. Called in to The Espry Cafe for brunch, along with many others, place was packed, alive with the sounds of earnest conversation, kāwhe's being made, and food being prepared.
Ample seating inside and out, although with light rain falling, most were inside, lovely decorated with Christmas decorations.
Cabinet food looked delicious and hard to pass by, so I got a cheesecake lollie dessert, along with an open steak sandwich, ultimate Espy smoothie, and a cappuccino with chocolate.
Kai was delicious, steak melted in my mouth, and salad was lovely. Kāwhe was well made, and I loved the additional chocolate fish. The Espy smoothie was huge and the best smoothie I've had in a long time.
A perfect dining experience, if you're in Whitianga or surrounds (I caught the ferry across from Ferry Landing, Cooks Beach), it's well worth the visit, you won't be disappointed, I wasn't.

The breakfasts were delicious. Big hearty portions! The berry waffles were the best I've had! Espy breakfast was great, thanks for the gluten free toast request. Much appreciated. Iced coffee were huge and delicious too! Great place to eat, with quick service who were very friendly.

Lovely setting close to the Whitianga Wharf. Nice atmosphere, kid friendly, and wonderful attentive staff.
Ordered our meal & as soon as I got to the table the Tea we ordered was arriving. The Ice coffee (amazing as per photo) was not far behind. Within 15 minutes, both the bacon & and eggs, plus my Creamy Mushrooms, had arrived. Very impressed, loved the food and def would go back again!

The quickest service I’ve had in an Australian or New Zealand cafe! And accurate too - an excellent large single shot skinny latte extra hot with a sleeve (amazing how many places get this order wrong) and delicious brownie. Perfect place to wait for your trip on the Ocean Leopard which boards from the ferry jetty across the road!
Big serving! Ordered the Seafood chowder, Date Scones, Creamy Mushrooms, and Kids Eggs Bene. All were lovely!
