This is a no-nonsense place to have three or four quick shots to get things going with your group. Don't plan on hanging out for hours or watching games on TV here. Just order from the menu of hundreds of creative options, pay the pittance menu prices, and don't forget to leave a generous tip for your barmen. Went in on Thursday night, Hannah (spelling) was the bartender and she was great. She had a secret shots menu with one that tasted like Iced Coffee, which was a big hit with our group (creative flavor l, delivered taste as promise, and fun presentation). Truly though, Hannah made it a fun evening, and crafted some great drinks. Love this Northgate staple... Absolute favorite place to go for drinks. It's a saloon with shots, shooters, and other beverages of choice. Personal recommendation, Stars and Stripes or Iced Coffee for the shots and the "Minnow Farmer" for the shooter. Look forward to coming back next trip though.

On a weekday after work it's a cool place to grab a shot or two and kick back but on the weekends anytime the Aggies are in town its hellaciously small and congested with people. Their staff keeps up very well and is very professional but definitely avoid it if you're claustrophobic. If you can take something for exactly what it is it's great! It's a super long shot bar with shots you've never heard of! It's a must see and do for the drinker in your crew of visitors and a tradition for the locals and students alike!

Incompetent employee tonight, not happy! The guy who was there was great the girl was horrible, so rude! Needs more training in customer service, hope owner is reading!! Also watched them literally use someone else’s shot glass twice without washing it! YUCK!!

Dry Bean has the best VISIBLE selection of shots out of the Northgate bars, but truthfully, you can order nearly all of these shots elsewhere. And you might should, because Dry Bean is packed full of people FAR BEYOND what its capacity should be on any weekend during the school year. I've been to Dry Bean more than several times and I've never had a great experience. Stars docked for pricing, capacity, and also the service tends to suck (because there's way too many people!). I'd recommend the Dry Bean only for people who are trying to discover a variety of shots; and even then, only go during off-peak hours. If you know what you want, don't go here.

Went in one night. It was our first stop. Everyone was sober. The bouncer confused my friend with someone else. And for no reason at all, literally picked him up and threw him out the door. He skinned up his knees and was bleeding. I called that night and spoke to the manager and they admitted their mistake and apologized. That doesn't change the fact that he hurt his knee and was humiliated because of their mistake.

This is a pretty great cosy bar. They have a huge selection of different types of shots and shooters. It can get pretty packed even when Northgate is "dead". I like to start off with a few shots and while I normally perfer tipsy turtle (just down the street) this is a great place to go.

The bouncer would not let my friend and a group of 10 of us in (all legal) for her 21st birthday because they thought she had a fake ID and handled the whole situation inappropriately. The bouncer was insulting her, mocking her, and strongly questioning her ID. It was strange considering she's truly of legal age and we had already been to other bars before we stopped at the dry bean and they gladly welcomed her with friendly greetings. The bouncer was very rude and abused his power. I will never return here; no bar with rude and inappropriate employees deserves our services.
