À propos
The Colony is pretty near C. P Nel Museum. Don't forget to degust nicely cooked fillet steaks, salads and rack of lamb at this restaurant. The wine list is diverse, it can satisfy the needs of all visitors. Guests don't like wine at The Colony. The nice staff welcomes people all year round. The terrific service demonstrates a high level of quality at this place. According to the guests' opinions, prices are average. You will certainly appreciate the cozy atmosphere and fine decor. But many guests are Facebook users and they rate this spot below average.

Food was good but very long waiting time. We ordered à la carte which is one of 2 options (the alternative being a buffet) and it took an hour and a half to receive our meal, despite us being the only table ordering food and the restaurant not being too busy. The restaurant is nice and historic but it was difficult to enjoy as it was loadshedding and the restaurant doesn’t have back-up power but only LED lights. Overall not a bad experience but would not come back due to excessive waiting time Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person R 250–300 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

No structure, management non existent. Can not judge the food, because we were not served. Power outage, no generator. Sitting in the dark. Booked a table for 2, they were not ready. Stood by an table for 10 min. No chairs. Wine was fantastic. Thank you Beyerskloof. I do not write reviews but this is disgraceful. n.
No Happy meals! We saw the reviews on TripAdvisor and got up from another restaurant to try this highly recommended Colony restaurant that was conveniently situated in the hotel that we stayed in. Do you want sanity, excellent service and peace and quiet? If so then do yourself a favour and rather buy a week old pie at the service station and a bottle of wine at the supermarket! We waited a merely 120 minutes with about 10 trips to the kitchen to get our so called food. At least I clocked additional steps on my smartwatch, that is absolutely a positive for the evening! With our two boys of 11&8 it was super fun getting our horrible burned and cold food at 22H00 in the evening. Luckily for us we had our own stash of wine in the car which we went to fetch and the only hardship was getting ice and two glasses to tap some wine to let sanity prevail... The Cape Malay lamp curry tastes like a 80year old cow that was slaughtered out of compassion. The fillet was so overcooked it must have won a month holiday trip in hell to look like that and my creamy spinach was half the stock of a dairy farm inserted to a bowl of spinach to put the happiness on top! Think carefully and buy yourself a boring burger at the Spur across the road to keep the smile on your face... Happy travels!
No service and not organised. We left after 2 1/4h with not one sight of our main course. They have served all the tourists first and as we were locals, they didn't bother to serve us. We asked 3x for water glasses and had a jug of water on the table. To bring the glasses took her more than one hour. At least we then didn't have to pay for the beverages and the starter.
