Lovely lunch spot with tables in the sun. Inside also looked cute with a medieval theme. Waiters were very friendly with our baby, and there was clean baby changing facilities and high chairs. We ordered the ftiras- very yummy and super reasonable prices for the large size (about 4eu for ham and cheese which came with a salad, 6eu for chicken mayo). If you like microwave food and mediocre at best service the Cafe Taverna is for you. The bruschetta was extremely salted, the pie was rock hard and tasted as it came from the fridge of a grocery store (which is probably not far from the truth) and the ice tea was sweeter than candy. But don't take my word for it, go and experience it yourself. NOT recommended.

This place was an unexpected discovery on our trip; they offer really good food, the ambient inside is really nice (knights, coat of arms and a whole medieval vibe), and fair prices. Recommend ! Service Dine in Meal type Other Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Went twice for drinks, once just for iced coffees and again for evening cocktails. Enjoyed both occasions. Good drinks, good service nice location and ambiance!

The medieval decoration is nice. That’s the highlight of the place. The service is slow and not so enthusiastic. The food is okay, there are mostly snacks on the menu.

Poor quality of food. Really poor. Hazelnuts rancid. Lasagna of table next to us old. Olive oil to ask extra for. Answer: it will take some time, we are very busy… Nothing to add But very nice setting. Which isn’t hard at Mdina

Beautiful place, but that's it. Food was bad, cold and service was slow. Staff were friendly but really didn't seem to understand the menu - we were told the hot dogs were Maltese sausage but were just ordinary hot dog sausages. The waiter still tried to tell us they were Maltese sausages. Sent the food back and went somewhere else! The place has so much potential but do not recommend right now.
