We recently had the pleasure of dining at the Blue Gem Restaurant at the Preller Square. This charming restaurant offers a relaxing ambiance. The food is excellent, the service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. A good variety of food in the buffet was provided.
The restaurant is also family-friendly, and there is a large outdoor patio that is perfect for dining outside.
Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience at the Blue Gem Restaurant. Stunning restaurant with BEAUTIFUL bathrooms, restaurant is well decorated, friendly staff, music, quality food and service. During our wedding reception, no one missed out on the speeches when it was needed to run to the bathroom, the audio is connected throughout the whole restaurant.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an excellent venue to have their wedding celebration, birthday party, renewing their vows.
Simon, the owner of Blue Gem has an eye for attention to detail, accommodated a room for a photo booth section for our guests and simply made the whole process very easy to organise. From glasses, to cutlery to plates and placemats were discussed, no need to arrange an Events Planner, Simon is your guy!!

Blue Gem Restaurant is an exceptional fine dining experience in Bloemfontein. The food is exquisite, and the service is top-notch. It is also boasts a tastefully decorated space that adds to the overall ambiance of the dining experience. It's one of my favorite restaurants of all time, offering exceptional quality at very reasonable prices.
For Valentine's Day, they offered a remarkable 6-course meal that was truly amazing! Kudos to Simon, the owner, for creating such a wonderful dining experience. I can't wait to visit again soon!

Had a really nice time at the blue gem, they have really great food and the service was splendid. It is also not that expensive considering what you get. It is definitely nice and value for money and I would recommend them if you are in the area or just visiting Bloemfontein.

We had a lovely date night at the fine dining restaurant. The food and the service was remarkable. I had the espetada and it was perfectly done to my liking, rare! My partner had the hake and he also said its some of the best hake he has had in Bloem! The coleslaw was also delicious. I had veggies with my espetada and it was seasoned perfectly. The veggies were cooked well but not overdone. Full of flavour and very juicy. Comparing this restaurant to other well known restaurants in Bloem in the fine dining industry this has certainly become our new favourite spot.

Wow. Beautiful Place indeed. December is our favorite time to visit Bloemfontein and the Blue Gem is our newly found Gem in Bloemfontein ❤️.
First of all the entry into the restaurant does not give up anything. Once you step in its like walking into a different place. The atmosphere is amazing and very relaxing. We fell inlove before we even saw the menu.
The host and the waiters were friendly and warm, we felt relaxed.
The menu has amazing options for me, my wife our daughter and son. It was an amazing experience.
The food came and it did not disappoint and was very delicious 😋.
We went for desert which is our favorite of in ending a wonderful night.
The desert and the dramatics surrounding it when served was great.
We are definitely coming back and we can't stop telling our friends and family traveling to visit our newly found GEM.
