For 12 years, this husband and wife duo has been serving Lamai. And for two years, we’ve considered this one of the best restaurants for fresh fish and real Thai food. We watch the fishermen drop off their catch. It’s as fresh as you can find. We have enjoyed the best grouper, snapper, barracuda, lobster, prawns…you name it. An incredible place. We dream of it when we are away. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Simple and no-frills family-run restaurant that serves up outstanding seafood for reasonable prices. My girlfriend and I ate here every day (four in total) of our recent stay on Samui. We ate something different each time and were never disappointed. If you find yourself in this area, do yourself a favour and call in. Really nice food! The steamed fish is incredible, fresh, soft and juicy. Pad thai and fried rice are delicious too! I highly recommend if you stay in Lamai Price per person ฿300–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I bought king prawns to be bbq’ed. I got very very dry and tasteless prawns, possibly microwaved? at least they were not seen a bbq, nor a pan nor were they boiled. The rice was ice cold. One star for the raw fish: they look incredibly tempting, unfortunately cooking skills were missing.

Simple Thai restaurant (which I like). The Thai oysters where really fresh, big and delicious. The tiger prawns were way to much barbequed and tasted way too smokey and dry. Sadly the Barracuda was catastrophic. Half a Barracuda was barbequed for a long time in Alu foiled. I had to wait 20 min after we ate the Prawns. Then I got a blackened huge piece of Barracuda, outside completely dry, inside raw. I never saw something like this. The huge piece of fish would have been 4 perfect slices, easy to cook. Nothing was added: no salt, no herb (or it burned off). The chef took it back without a problem. My advice: order anything but BBQ. And try the oysters. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1
