My friends and I were so excited to try this new brunch spot. Unfortunately it did not work out this way. One of my friends tried to order an iced coffee, and they only served hot coffee at this location. They did make accommodations and serve a cup of warm coffee with a cup of ice on the side and a small side of oatmeal cookie creamer. She did not ask if she wanted any other type of creamer. She just served her this type. One of my friends and I both ordered the eggs Benedict. This was nothing of the swortz. We were served a pile of salmon that looks like it was can. It was extremely unappetizing and left us feeling uneasy and sick in the car. My friends eggs that were supposed to be poached were hard-boiled, and there was no hollandaise sauce included on this dish. The waitress told us that this menu item had been added to the menu just the day before when days before we were checking the menu and we saw it on the menu already. The appearance of the eggs Benedict looked like a pile of mush. Overall, we would never return this location and do not recommend anyone anyone order the eggs Benedict. My other friend got the strawberry pancakes and said that they were pretty good. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
I’m occasionally a little confused when I arrive to find empty tables because The Asbury is so delicious AND because it’s kind of an oasis in the middle of Uptown. The food is truly delicious (my fiance says their burger is his favorite in all of Charlotte), they validate parking, and it’s not a chain - what could be better?
Haley was a our Server. She was a pleasant and patient person. The Food was delicious and well seasoned. We celebrated a friend Birthday. Fabulous experience by the Chef, Server, and Valet attendant. Friends and I just happened upon The Asbury for brunch last Saturday morning, and we were so glad we did! The menu has classic brunch options but also some unique finds as well. I had the Asbury Breakfast Stack and the jalapeno potato cakes with ‘Nduja gravy was such a delicious combination of flavors. In addition to the food, the service was just wonderful. A big shout-out to Nikki for her personable and professional service – she had us smiling and laughing. I will definitely be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The Asbury was quiet early on a Monday morning. That allowed me the opportunity to chat with staff and recover following a late night at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Nikki M is a fantastic server and was perfectly attentive without hovering. I’d hoped to try the Chicken Biscuit with the piquillo cream cheese and blueberry jam, but they were out of chicken (not surprising after a busy weekend). I got my second choice, the Classic Breakfast. The scrambled eggs were good, the bacon extra crispy (just as I like it), and the jalapeno & smoked gouda potato cake, while just a little bit greasy, was scrumptious. The biscuit was overcooked but flakey enough to separate. Once the harder outside layers were removed, it met the expectations of this “southern rustic fare” restaurant. Its location inside The Dunhill allowed me a quick peak of Charlotte’s only “historic boutique hotel." Next time I’ll try to stay onsite and take advantage of the full bar and an expanded menu at The Asbury. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Great dining experience. We had the entire place to ourselves. Our server Natalie was very attentive and sweet. They switch their menu items often so you will always find something new to try. The sticky biscuits definitely lived up to their name. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Everything was so delicious to eat as well as to drink. They have a great cocktail menu along with a wine/beer selection. Highly recommend visiting this place!

Only one of our party of three enjoyed the meal. My burger was incredibly dry and overcooked. The service was lackluster at best and missing in action most of the time. Thankfully the company was great so we made the best of our Christmas present exchange. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
Had a wonderful Valentines night experience. The bar designed a specialty drink menu which was very pleasing prior to our sit down dinner. Service as always top notch at both Ashbury and Dunhill Hotel. They have never fallen short on service and thoughtfulness to their clientele. A pillar to the Charlotte hospitality experiance. We came here for brunch. Make a reservation because it's a tiny restaurant and it was pretty much full when we were there. We tried so many biscuits: the sticky biscuits, cast iron biscuits, and chicken in a biscuit. We also tried the fried chicken sammy and the mac and cheese. All of the food was good, but not great. My favorite things were the sticky biscuits and the fried chicken sammy. The mac and cheese was kind of bland and the cast iron biscuits didn't come with enough butter/jam. The thing that really made me not want to come back here was the service. It was incredibly slow. We waited for at least 10-15 minutes after we were ready before our waitress came to take our order. Then she didn't put in one of the entree orders for someone else at our table. Our water never got refilled. We had to ask for multiple coffee refills before we got one. They did at least make the entree they forgot about complementary, but the service still left a bad taste in my mouth. Our waitress also said they validated parking for the 5/3 garage, told us it would be $5, and supposedly validated ours, but we still got charged $11. Overall, the food probably wasn't good enough to make me come back with the bad service.
