Food was amazing - a taste of authentic Indian curry in Port Vila at a very reasonable price!! we ordered duck curry, lamb vindaloo, garlic & butter naan and home made dhal, serving size was huge one serve can feed two people -unable to finish food had to ask for doggy bag. Great spot, lots of space for parking. Highly recommend this place, will definitely come back😊 Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Taking over the site of a former day spa, Taste of India began their soft launch three weeks ago. Word of decent Indian food in Port Vila has spread through the expat. community like wildfire. We were told by a charming pair during our meal at Coco de Mer. With fairy lights outside and an opulent gold and white interior, Taste of India makes a good attempt at transporting you from everyday Vanuatu. Fluffy butter naan (300VT) and garlic naan (350VT) cooked in the tandoor are must-orders. The chicken tikka (1200VT) was over-cooked and dry, so opt for the on-the-bone version—tandoori chook (850VT/half)—as your entree instead. The kitchen hasn’t quite got the entree then main progression sorted (it’s early days) so it arrived after our tandoori whole fish (3000VT). The small but fleshy golden pomfret came out so fast it was a little cold in the centre, but a quick word to the owner ensured we got it back a few minutes later piping hot. It ate best with all three chutneys—tamarind, mint, and tomato and onion—spooned over the top. The meal’s spicy star was the duck curry (3000VT) where a well-rendered, bone-in half duck (sourced from Australia or New Zealand) was presented in a rich, well-integrated onion, coriander seed and tomato-based curry. While the sauce was on the thin side, it ate well over a gentle, generously proportioned pot of pea and coriander pulao (500VT). And this is one restaurant where if you ask for hot, you actually receive it: you’re going to need a Tusker OP (500VT). With more bells and whistles planned for the (already impressive) interior, and the kitchen solidifying processes, Taste of India will be an asset to Port Vila’s dining scene. I couldn’t be more happier with my dining experience at Taste of India. The best Indian food I’ve had in a long time, a mouthful of flavors. We ordered Lamb Biryani (spicy) and Vindaloo (mild) with variety of naan. Also tried Chicken Tikka and Duck curry. Service was also great! Highly recommended 😋 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The welcoming and positive atmosphere is contagious as you are welcomed to the restaurant. We got to enjoy the Valentine's decorations and even got handmade paper roses 🌹 We had the butter chicken and the duck curry which paired with sides of; mint & tamarind chutney; pickled mango and lime was an explosion of aromatics and flavour. The guava & chilli cocktail was a nice mix of sweet and spicy. I definitely want to come back during my holiday. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Excellent authentic Indian food. To be honest, I didn't expect such great flavors given the constraints of availability of all ingredients being on a small island. The service was extraordinary - always serving with smile ( Island’s - vibe). This place is must visit, highly recommended. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Taste of India is without a doubt one of Port Vila’s best restaurants. The best service in PV, a great menu, and amazing atmosphere. Also, its one of the few places in PV to get a IPA or ice cold craft beer. Can’t recommend it enough! They also host fantastic event nights that are brilliant to attend which include dancing, making new friends & fun activities. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Today another delicious meal at Taste of India. Always a warm welcome by the lovely, charming owner: Sophia. There is a great selection of entrees, mains and desserts. I truly recommend you to go and have a great experience for yourself. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Visited twice it was so good! Delicious freshly cooked Indian food. The Dhal was particularly good. The decor is quirky and makes for a fun atmosphere. The staff are all very welcoming and happy to meet special diet needs. They struggled a bit with serving our large party but sorted it out when we alerted the manager and the service was great when we went in a smaller group. Highly recommended. Delighted to find good Indian food is available in Port Vila again. The restaurant is on it's own lot with ample parking. The inside and the balcony are roomy spaces and it has a welcoming atmosphere. We tried the Chicken Tikka Marsala, Lamb Saag, (which wasn't on the menu, but the chef was able to whip it up for us) and dahl. All dishes were delicious and well presented. The naans were good and the sauces were spot on. Value wise, it is rather pricey for the amount served. The restaurant had only been open 3 weeks when we dined, so it is a work in progress, with both the menu and outdoor seating area expected to be expanded. The host, Mitesh, Sofia and staff were attentive and friendly. Had second visit recently and found the food was not quite as tasty as on the first visit. The tandoori chicken in particular was strangely done without the usual red colour or tandoor flavour. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Excellent curries with generous servings. Newly opened for dine in despite the fact the owners are yet to fully complete the decor. This did not detract from the food and lovely staff. This restaurant will only get better once they’re fully open. This is what Vila has been missing, a top notch authentic Indian restaurant. We’ll be back for sure!
