Very chill atmosphere. The server Alex was amazing. He did a fantastic job. The food was delicious, i really enjoyed the soup and Eel. I want to come back and try the sushi rice. I am only curious because i want to know if it's different then what i had with the eel, not that it wasn't great, but it I wasn't to thrilled with the texture. Bummer Experience at My Go-To Japanese Spot So, I've been to this Japanese place like four times in the last year. Usually, it's pretty good, which is why I gotta share what went down this time. We went all out with our order - couple of appetizers, entrees, and like five sushi rolls. The main thing we were hyped about was the Saba Shioyaki (grilled mackerel). But man, things got weird. When ordering, I asked about the Gindara Dinner (grilled black cod), but the server said it's a small dish. So, I stuck to the mackerel plan. But here's the twist - when our dish came, it didn't look like mackerel at all. Mackerel's usually dark, but this was light. We tasted it to be sure, and yep, definitely not mackerel. Told the server about the mix-up, and she was like, "Nope, you ordered black cod." And get this - they wouldn't swap it out but said we could order mackerel on top of this. We passed. And we sent the Black Cod dish back. Then the server comes back saying the owner will charge us half for the black cod because we touched it. How were we supposed to know it wasn't mackerel without tasting, right? I told the server to forget the discount - we don't need it. We paid full price for the black cod and didn’t order anything else. I've been here on dates, with friends, and with family. But today? Total letdown. Felt like they were penny-pinching and thought we were too. I usually leave a nice 20% tip, but today, just 16%. Didn't really feel like they earned it. Probably not going back after this. My husband and I ordered the combination teriyaki salmon meals, and they were delicious! Mine came with sashimi. The 6 piece sashimi was tasty and fresh. Firm texture and no fishy taste at all! We've been here several times and ordered different items. We've never been disappointed. The hot tea is complementary. The service is great. The food comes out in a timely manner. The price is very reasonable for this area. The restaurant is small, so if you have a large group, call to see if they can accommodate. Was our first time here and we arrived about 1PM on a Friday. It was quite busy, which is usually a very good sign. We dined in and both ordered a combo box with tempura and choice of roll: I chose the Philadelphia Roll and my wife got the California Roll. Firstly, it took 38 minutes to receive our food after we ordered, which is too long even if it was busy. The server was friendly, however he forgot our drinks and the side of lemon - honest mistake and it was busy, afterall. On to the food... salad and miso soup were both fine; typical of what you would expect. The tempura was luke warm and soggy, no crunch at all. The rolls were "ok" at best. I hate to say it, however I have had better California Rolls from a grocery store. The worst part was the tempura dipping sauce. It tasted like liquid smoke, and heavy liquid smoke at that. This is not at all what it should taste like. Nevertheless, we will not be back. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Very nice place. The food is delicious, atmosphere and service is very good as well. I've been here several times and every time they meet my expectations. I've tried several things on their menu and everything I've had so far has been amazing. The place is kinda small but that add to its pleasant atmosphere I think.
