Last place we had dinner on our trip and it was by far the best! Angus Beef Ravioli was amazing, perfectly creamy and just the right portion size. The local sausage with bread and jam was interesting, not something we would have tried normally but the combined flavours were excellent. For all the other places we visited, the price was considerably lower. The restaurant was less "flashy", as with some others, but this was easily made up with high quality ingredients. Tal-Furnar - "The Oven" Okey, let's face it. It's not for everyone. If you expect a 5-star environment, fine dining, linen table cloths and such, this is not for you. However, if you enjoy solid, good food, that competes with the 5 star places, in the rustic environment of an old bakery, the smell of a proper wood-fired oven, with super-tasty food and good drink, Come over here! The chicken? The beef rib? Fantastic! That dessert, cinnamon ice cream and imqaret, bliss! It was just the cherry on the top. Their pizzas are just as great! A truly lovely experience from start to the finish also our server (tall with mustache) was so nice he explained everything to good detail. We had the Local Platter to start .... was very fresh and all home made products from their farm...then we had the Local Lamb (so tasty and melt in the mouth) plus the Rabbit Ravioli. Over all good price and we even took home some wine from their vineyard. Super!!! This is the place to eat in Xaghra. We thought we would try a different restaurant each night but once we tried this one, we needed to keep coming back. The food and local flavours can’t be beat! In addition to a variety of dishes including meat, pizza and pasta, there are always interesting specials. The desserts are also not to be missed. Can’t say enough good things about the service, food and experience.

Now this is the real deal! Awesome cuisine so accommodating before we sailed back to Malta Wonderful finish to a great day with their fresh Maltese fair and awesome 100 year old stone oven! You just have to go but be sure to book Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I've been eating here now for a few years and Never have i been disappointed. First off the family who run this place (starting from Carmen) are extremely hospitable and welcoming. The food itself is home made and genuine (cooked by Carmens daughter if I am not mistaken). I really recommend the Maltese Sausage starter and the Pork with crackling as a main. The house wine is very good and well priced. And finally - true value for money. Merits repeated visits. We were recommended this place September 2021 by locals and we thought we could get a table without a reservation. Unfortunately wrong thought... We then ordered salad and paste to go and reserved a table for a few days later. We enjoyed the ordered food in the vacation apartment on the terrace. The meat dishes, which we then ate on site, were also very tasty. We can highly recommend the Tal-Furnar and come back in September 2022 - of course with prior reservation ;-)

Amazing restaurant run by such lovely people. I've had the pleasure of coming here for a decade and it hasn't changed. The food is amazing, the family that run the restaurant are too amazing and so friendly. Using the traditional stone oven to cook and serving traditional Maltese/Gozo food there's plenty on the menu for everyone (including children) Homemade wine and bread is served too can't go wrong. Amazing food, never disappoints. We come here basically each time we are in Gozo. The food is all amazing including the traditional dishes, ftiras and even the specials they have periodically. Dessert is always very good as well and don't miss out on the Gozitan coffee. I also recommend there house wine, we really enjoy it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and homely, and inside it is really charming with the wood oven and old traditional decor. Highly recommended!
