Lovely rustic restaurant, down a little alley, that serves delicious authentic Algarvian food. The staff were really friendly and the owner came to introduce himself. We were recommended the mackerel and bread stew (similar to mash potatoes but made with bread, very yummy if you like garlic and coriander). We also ordered the golden bream, triggerfish with bean rice, sardines with algarvian potatoes (the potatoes were very very good!). Best to park in the parking area along the main road as it's fairly narrow with limited parking in front of the restaurant. Amazing Portuguese dinner in Portimao, all the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The owner even stopped by our table to talk to us. The rustic vibe is so fun and the no frills classic cooking is perfectly executed. Everything we tried was fresh and tasty. Dont miss the fried shrimp or the Portuguese stew. Both are excellent. Every year, in summer, I visit this restaurant. The menu is great with various options focused on local cuisine. But the big star for me is the tuna belly, no words! Even my 1yr old love it. Staff is friendly and efficient. Lunch time is less busy, dinner after 8 you need a booking or to just persevere in the long queue. A most in Portimão old centre!

We were looking for a place to eat dinner on a Thursday evening in Portimao centre and stumbled across this lively homely family restaurant. The owner was at the front and engaged us in a friendly chat. The atmosphere was so cosy we decided to stay and had our favourite dining experience from Porto, Lisbon and Algarve. The food, service and atmosphere was 10/10, and we gained some great facts about the food being served.
