Swad Desh Thakali: A Taste of the Himalayas That Soars to Five Stars
Swad Desh Thakali wasn't just a lunch, it was an epicurean expedition to the heart of the Himalayas. From the moment I stepped through the doors, the welcoming aroma of spices and simmering stews transported me to a bustling mountain village, and the delicious meal that followed only cemented this delightful illusion.
The star of the show, without a doubt, was the mutton. Oh, the mutton! Cooked to melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, each bite exploded with a symphony of flavors. The spices, perfectly balanced and never overpowering, danced on the tongue, a harmonious blend of warmth, earthy tones, and a hint of sweet smokiness. It was a culinary masterpiece, one that had me scraping the plate clean and begging for more.
But the mutton wasn't the only act in this delectable play. Every dish we sampled, from the tangy pickles and fluffy dal bhat to the crisp papads and perfectly steamed vegetables, was a testament to the restaurant's dedication to quality and flavor. It was clear that Swad Desh Thakali takes pride in using fresh, local ingredients and preparing them with traditional methods that coax out their truest essence.
The service was another shining star. Our server, attentive and knowledgeable, guided us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm, recommending dishes and explaining the intricacies of Thakali cuisine. We never felt rushed or ignored, and their warm hospitality further amplified the already welcoming atmosphere.
Speaking of atmosphere, Swad Desh Thakali struck the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort. The decor, with its hand-painted murals and cozy wooden booths, evoked the warmth of a mountain lodge, while the clean lines and efficient layout ensured a comfortable and relaxed dining experience.
In conclusion, Swad Desh Thakali is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. It's a delightful journey to the heart of the Himalayas, where flavors dance on your tongue and hospitality makes you feel like a cherished guest. If you're looking for a lunch (or dinner!) that will leave you wanting to book a plane ticket to Nepal, Swad Desh Thakali is your one-way ticket to five-star culinary bliss.

Undoubtedly the best place for delicious food in LAHAN. Wonderful and comfortable cabins, delicious thakali and biryani items, momos and also delivery service is available inside the city.
Wonderful team and fresh items are available. If you are around there you can't miss this place for your meal and breakfast.
Biryani was not tasty as the price was Rs. 300/plate. We're four and none of us were satisfied either with taste or with serving. We found it very expensive comprising to taste. If we'd chance to pay as of Taste, we'd hardly payed Rs. 100. They provided us 4 piece of Tissue paper after asking for it.
Literally worst food experience.
We ordered 3 biryani's while traveling from east to KTM.
The eggs and chicken in Biryani were rotten and smells so bad.
And when we complain about it, there was no apology or anything.
Zero rating.
