À propos
To taste perfectly cooked bacon, chicken pies and fish is a really nice idea. Good muffins and tasty Scones are the tastiest dishes. Visitors don't like cappuccino at this cafe. Sugar Juice Cafe is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. You will like reasonable prices. There is a pleasant atmosphere and homey decor at this place. Google users awarded this spot 4.3.

Lovely cafe. The food was really yummy. If you ask, you can take your dog to the courtyard via a gate at the back. Lovely relaxed place to have lunch. Lots of quirky stuff, even in the loo. ☺️ Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

We mostly don’t write reviews but I was so dissatisfied and disappointed after going to this cafe that the only right thing to do was writing about it. Carrot cake was very good but the service was so poor. We’ve been everywhere in the Northern island and nowhere have we met such unfriendly people. It was like they wern’t happy when customers walked in. Will definitely never return to this place nor recommend it to anyone! Service Dine in Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Bad coffee. The food was edible but suboptimal - tomato soup of the day was marginally better than canned and poached eggs were overcooked. I was also disappointed by the bread, which was the kind you can buy in a supermarket (Freya's?). The service was slow and the interior is unappealing. The only positive is the beautiful outdoor area in the back. We will not be returning.
This is a cosy ,quirky, little cafe in Opunake. We arrived with the lunchtime crowd so it got very busy and the wait time for food was longer than we expected. There is a tiny area outside which caters for those who enjoy the sunshine while eating. I ordered the BLT which was pretty good. My friend ordered a scone, custard slice and a cuppa. She said her order was delicious.

A nice cafe with nice food. The experience was tarnished a bit by our coffee order being wrong and then chomping down on a small piece of glass in a custard square. I showed the staff but they didn't appear to be particularly worried about it, and nothing more was said or done. Service Dine in Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
Loved the vibrant colour and the garden room. Even plants in the cheerful yellow toilet. 19 for lunch. Delivered on time to correct person and dishes perfect. Salad especially yummy. Portions generous. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Lovely place for a break as you travel round the mountain. Food was delicious, and was beautifully presented. Pleasant, friendly staff. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Toasted Sandwich
Legitimately excellent coffee (on a Wellington scale), food was very attractively presented, but a little inconsistent. Breakfast stack was good, but a little underseasoned. Pancakes were far too solid, but the fruit was great.
Unfriendly people, felt like they didn’t want us to order or sit there. No wifi and they wouldn’t let us use the plugs to charge a smartphone or laptop. Service Dine in Meal type Other Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
