Great little bar in the town centre, Absinthe bar primarily (big range from round the world, including Japan) but it has a couple of Japanese Gin’s and nice selection of Japanese Whiskey along with beer’s available also. The bar snacks are also excellent!
To find the place, look for Tanuki (3 story restaurant, cafe and restaurant. Good coffee and food 👍) In the town centre. From there, heading down the ramp you can see an Italian Restaurent. Walk up the stairs in front of the restaurant and then to the end of the balcony, the bar is at the end.
The sign says “Green Fairy” and it will indicated open or closed. If after 8pm (opening time) and it say’s closed, still try the door as he might have forgot to turn the sign to open!
The man who runs the place is very nice local with reasonable English. Good laid back music, you can have a quite drink and play cards or just hang out. There is a Japanese style seating area, or sit at the bar, we had a couple of nice nights half watching a movie, playing cards and having a chat with the owner.
Highly recommend it for a relaxed couple of drinks after dinner.
Nice place run by friendly master visited by regular customers. Master converted an original japanese hostess bar into speakeasy absinthe bar, and preserved most of decorations including painting of green geishas on the wall.
