Food - Pepper Squid 8/10, Pad Thai (Shrimp) 7/10, Druken Noodles (Pork) 5/10, Panang Curry (Chicken) 9/10, for the price of the curry it could have at least been served with a serving of regular rice. The option of adding Jasmine Rice costs $42 🤔. There isn't an option for regular rice. Ambiance / atmosphere - Tables were too small for seating 4 adults, especially when the food arrived. The dining layout can also be improved. I would definitely order takeout in the future. Price - Prices were decent but didn't match the ambiance. She will check on you often, but she will interrupt your conversation, and never switch off her 'resting b!t@h face.' She will answer all your questions but not politely. She will bang the dishes and glassware. It seemed clear that our presence was a disturbance to her peace and serenity and she made sure we knew that. Food was so-so. From the host to the server, we were ushered in very quickly without having a reservation. The aroma of their food immediately made us switch from take out to dining. Sarah was an excellent server. Our food took less than fifteen minutes to be served and everything was tasty, hot and delicious! Portions were great enough food to comfortably feed 3 persons for approximately $350 TTD. Definitely will be back. Lost one star because the dining furniture can use some improvement and the utensils, drink ware and plate settings could have been better. The best Thai food in the East. Stopped in for the lunch special, which consisted of red thai curry chicken, vegetables, and noodles, and as always, it did not disappoint. The price has increased by $5, but based on size and quality, no complaints. Service Take out Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Panang Curry Shrimp

The delectable food is the drawing card. Sumptuous Thai cuisine "chefed" by a young man from Thailand who morphed his rise at the Hilton to opening Sombat. The Thai food is authentic and so is the man. My fellow diners and I descended on the restaurant from Chaguanas on a Wednesday. We shared the place with two other diners. It was 11:30 am and the mood was sombre. The staff lacked enthusiasm and cheer. A big no-no in a business depending on client satisfaction. However, we came for the food and not a cheery server, but it would have been nice. I would be careful about arriving early, the papaya salad we ordered was too spicy and went back to the kitchen. It was replaced and the chef-owner came and apologized. Not good. On the other hand, the fried calamari, Pad Thai and mixed vegetables dishes tasted perfect. The cardamom laced vanilla ice cream for the birthday girl and caramel cheesecake for "ma blond" took some edge off the disappointing entre and service. Sombat thrived during Covid via takeout orders. It remains an essential part of the business. Plenty of plastic bags filled with food exited the premises during our stay. Our server was replaced by a human one and we exited some $100 CA poorer with smiles and a doggy bag. Worth a smile! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
Had pepper shrimp wantons as an appetiser. They were well seasoned, spicy & the wantons themselves were cripsy. Overall, great flavour. For our main, we had Pad Thai noodles covered in egg, Shrimp in a sweet, flavourful Cashew sauce with sweet peppers & cashews, spicy fried Button mushrooms & jasmine fried rice with egg. There was a harmony of flavours present in all the dishes which was a balanced combination of sweet, salty, spicy & sour. Presentation was creative which I loved and overall the dishes were super delicious. Food was authentic and the flavours were sharp. Thai food is a great cuisine and this restaurant is definitely underrated but highly recommended 👌🏼
Place is simple and not overly decorated. Pleasant staff... And the food😍😍😍 flavours were perfect. Definitely found a new spot. Check out the pics. Don't knock out until you try it. Had jasmine shrimp fried rice, spicy fried mushrooms, red curry shrimp, green curry chicken, chilli pork, spicy shrimp wantons.

Really good option. My wife enjoyed the food tremendously and they even let her nurse our newborn in their dining area. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Been coming here for YEARS! And not one time have I been disappointed. The decor can be better but hey if it ain't broken why fix it. The waitresses could be a little more friendly, they seem to always be a bit grumpy as of late but they get the job done. Keep it up Sombats Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Panang Curry Shrimp
