We had a really good birthday-dinner here, for my husband, tonight! The honey chicken, the peri-peri chicken, the picado, and the steak with mushroom sauce, were all outstandingly delicious. Excellent restaurant, still undiscovered by many people. You really need to know where it is located to find it, but definitely worth to go. Very good food , at affordable prices.

Not recommended. Food was not great and gave food poisoning to our family. Our kids were sick all night long. Solar da Maloeira was a let down in many ways. I don't plan to ever return as there are far better restaurants in Madeira who provide better quality food and a better level of service. One to avoid from our perspective.

Nestled between the lush greens in a small village. Food is simple authentic traditional food. The Espitada was uncomplicated and beautifully flavoured.
