The staff were all top-notch, super friendly and happy, able to to meet all your requests easily. Premises was super tidy and clean. Ambience by the beach was incredible. We had the inclusive breakfast here 8 – 11 AM. Nice Continental buffet range. There are additional items you can order through the QR code menu. For some reason bacon is not listed yet they do it in a great crispy style. Enjoyed the fresh fruits, breads and really loved the Thai congee. Thai style omelette was tasty too. Unfortunately I found the straight black coffee too bitter for my taste. Had lunch a few times here. The prawn cakes were great. Pad Thai was lovely too – make sure you ask for the four condiments tray. The club sandwich was well presented and the fillings were tasty, only to be let down by the outside layered bread, which was on the soft side, I believe this should have been toasted for longer to make it crisper. Very good surprise indeed! Came here after reading the other reviews and it did not disappoint. The food was stunning (the steak and the Tom Yum especially), the location is incredible and the service attentive. Prices are on the higher end, but nothing extravagant at all - the perfect place for a date night if you’re around the area!

We felt a bit silly just eating at our hotel when there are dozens of options down the beach, but we were very pleasantly satisfied with the meal. It is definitely expensive, but we assumed the atmosphere and quality would come with such a price tag. Staff was kind and quick. I love shimmer, I love the breakfast here and the staff is amazing. The dinner and lunch is gorgeous, delicious menu selection and also fabulous live music by a great Spanish musician guy we met called Jacks. Shimmer is romantic in all levels. The music they play there is fabulous. I love the sourdough bread and the selection of the breakfast , fruits is absolutely perfection. I love the coconut ice cream and the lobster pasta. Stunning view and really good decor. We thought the food was absolutely amazing! Gambas pil pil to start was the best I’ve ever had. Was so good! I had the steak which was cooked perfectly and my partner had the soft shell crab which was also delicious. Staff was friendly too. Would recommend a visit. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

This was surprisingly good! Service very attentive and professional, good language skills and understood what I did not like. Beyond Meat Kha-Paow an interesting option. It's relatively expensive but I think it's by far the best of the higher grade beach restaurants in that part of Kamala. Everything we ordered from the Thai menu was excellent. I regret having tried all the other restaurants nearby that were not nearly as good. Next time I am in North Kamala I will definitely return to eat here. (Hoping it's still as good!) We are staying at the InterContinental, which is next door and opened a month ago (Sept 2019). Shimmer is a new beach restaurant and part of Twin Palms’ appartements. Food is great, $$ priced and service is good. It is the best beach faced restaurant in Kamala beach (if you like luxury) at reasonable prices. I have the honor of providing the first review and I highly recommend! Also for Thai food!
