We came here hoping to go to zai Sushi, which was closed, so we were a bit bummed, but this place did not disappoint, I had fish tacos and my husband had a chili re. Which was the best ever. The food was super fresh and delicious, everyone was so nice, and you can't beat the views. Also they have a wood fired pizza oven and the pizza looked amazing as well.

I forgot to take a picture of my Sashimi Pizza! I was so hungry, couldn’t wait.
Views, unbeatable, atmosphere: as you make it. Made two Canadian friends, awesome for a change. Some American neighbors have been particularly unfriendly to a local Mexican American, seemed unfriendly, and rude to say the least. This is still Mexico even though we allow you to bring your attitude, please BE NICE, no need to be rude, specially while you are on your phone and the people around you are being polite, if you want privacy, GO TO YOUR ROOM, my friend was just showing me the view! You cannot just come here, buy some land and turn it into America, that is where you are running away from too! Just be freaking nice!!! 😉
Service: Locals, as good as it gets.
They will cook everything from scratch, wood fire oven pizza, the real thing, it was spicy for me. But just pulled off the Serranos. Their salsa’s are very tasty.
Good Prosecco.
Very good Apperol Spritz.
Good Margaritas.
Such a great spot for every kind of meal from the guac to the pizza. Great atmosphere and the food is fresh and super tasty:) Cecilia is super friendly and accommodating.
The view is stunning and we even saw some whales!

Title: A Slice of Heaven with an Unbeatable Ocean View!
Shade at La Fortuna is the ultimate hidden gem! From the moment I stepped foot into this place I knew I was in for a treat.
The pizza here is absolutely amazing, and I can't stop raving about it. Every bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, and I couldn't get enough. The crust was perfectly crispy, and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. I'm a pizza enthusiast, and I can confidently say that Shade's pizza ranks among the best I've ever had.
The ambiance of this place is another star in its crown. The moment you walk in, you're enveloped by a warm and inviting atmosphere. Great vibe! It's the kind of place where you can unwind with friends, take a date, or pop in after a surf.
But the true showstopper at Shade at La Fortuna is the unbeatable ocean view. With an open restaurant you get waves crashing against the shore, and a full ocean view; it is an experience like no other. It's the perfect backdrop to an already amazing dining experience. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, you'll be treated to breathtaking vistas that make every moment memorable.
And let's not forget the owner, Marcus, who is one of a kind. Super cool, interesting, and he truly knows hospitality. He adds a personal touch to the dining experience that sets Shade apart from the rest. His passion for great food and creating a welcoming atmosphere is evident in every aspect of this restaurant.
The service was also top-notch, with attentive staff who made sure our dining experience was exceptional from start to finish.
Shade at La Fortuna is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in incredible pizza, soak up a fantastic vibe, and enjoy an unbeatable ocean view. With Marcus at the helm, you can be sure that your visit will be an unforgettable one. I can't wait to return to this little slice of heaven on the coast.

Bit of a tourist trap! We ordered the shortboard breakfast burritos. The eggs were way over cooked, and they neglected to put half of the things in the burrito that were on the menu… like beans and spinach. I also asked to add cheese which they didn’t put in. Waited 25 minutes for our food.
This is more of a $100-$300 spending spot. Not 1-$100 like they have posted.
If you appreciate a good breakfast burrito you will be disappointed. DO NOT get the coffee here. I just returned mine. It tasted like water. Oh also it was 180$ pesos for this sorry burrito. They gave us a discount at 160$.
Great view though.

Food was excellent. Definitely wish we'd found this place earlier in our trip. Service was great and the price was a good value. Garlic shrimp was definitely awesome
Breakfast burrito was quite literally one of the worst I’ve ever had and contained half of the ingredients listed on the menu.
The cherry on top was that it was also the most expensive burrito I’ve had in Mexico.
Also returned the coffee after one sip, undrinkable.
Skip it!

Nice big menu. Pesto sandwich rocks as do the fries. If you like thick crust pizza you’re good. I prefer thin. Fajitas were great. Service is awesome. View is amazing

30 mins after ordering, rather than getting our food, we were told the dish we ordered was no longer available - staff wasn’t able to offer an alternative because they didn’t know what was/wasn’t available (when the option we proposed finally came, food was good) - coupled with NA drink prices (75 MXN for a small local beer) experience was disappointing - go up hill to White Bus (Don Victor’s), food, service and prices way better
