Excellent atmosphere. Fantastic service. Didn't get to try the food, but the beer is fantastic! Some superb German beers along with other imports.

Bad experience! I visited this establishment once or twice before a long time ago and was very satisfied. However today was another story.
To treat my partner with some fine cuisine I chose Roast . Usually when you arrive at a restaurant someone welcomes you and lead you to, or suggest a table to sit at. Not here, the staff sit and chat and when you gesture what now, you just get a wave of the hand on where to go.
I ordered a prego roll with homemade prego sauce, unfortunately the roll was swimming in the sauce which tasted like someone emptied a vinegar bottle in the sauce and the meat had chunks of fat on it. I tried but after consuming maybe a quarter of the dish, I could no more. My partners' order was also a disappointment.
When ordering a beer, I pointed to a non-alcoholic beer on the menu but when paying my account I saw that I was served with the alcoholic version.
The fact that I sent the food back and when settling my account after being asked how the food was and I told the person how it was, including the slip up with the beer, there was just a non-apology apology (doesn't care).
Yes, there are lots of great reviews (that is why I chose Roast) and I may just have had an uncommon bad experience, however I don't care if my review is ridiculed.
An average high rating is a good indicator of quality, but it is important that the establishment maintain that standard of service and quality to justify the high rating.
I will not visit this establishment again but rather go somewhere where you are respected for choosing that establishment.

Roast is a lovely family run German cafe, espresso bar and delicatessen. The food is always great and the caramel cheesecake is to die for. There is a range of food to choose from such as croissants, cold cut rolls with your choice of available cold meats, eisbein, burger,pork chops, pork belly sausage platters etc. The atmosphere is intimate with an outside deck and a fireplace for those cold winter days. Freshly baked brotchen buns and bread is available for purchase too.

Good place to grab a few drinks with friends expecially beer. The food is tasty but portions are not too big. It's more like tapas. It's sad that the place closes at 19h00 though. Can also get fresh baked bread and some authentic Belgian snacks here.
Always nice. My favourite eat out experience in Klerksdorp. Nice beer selection , coffee is good and food always good. No nasty suprises .

One word... Excellent. The dark roast cappuccino is super delicious, it has a nice strong expresso taste. The french toast was a great portion, just enough not to much. The caramel souce that was drizzled on top just made the dish even better. Thank you, I will be back again and again.
