À propos
Río Viejo is a charming Mexican establishment in Guadalajara that serves up traditional cuisine with a creative twist. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed, perfect for a casual night out or a romantic dinner. The interior design is rustic and inviting, with warm lighting and colorful decor. Prices are fair, and the location is convenient for both locals and tourists. One of the special features of Río Viejo is the outdoor seating area, which offers a lovely atmosphere for dining al fresco. Additionally, they have live music on certain nights, adding to the overall experience. The bar is well-stocked with a variety of tequilas and other spirits, as well as a selection of wines. Some standout dishes include the plantain molotes with mole, the tortilla soup, and the cochinita pibil. For those seeking seafood options, the shrimp al ajillo and the soft shell crab tacos are highly recommended. The drinks menu is just as impressive, with options like the tamarind cantarito and the mezcal margarita. Overall, Río Viejo is a fine dining spot that offers a unique take on classic Mexican cuisine. With its delicious food, inviting ambiance, and excellent service, it's definitely worth a visit.

This place has great food from tortilla soup to braised ribeyes This was our second time here. The prices are a bit high but well worth it. And you can't beat their selection of tequilas and beer. If you come to Guadalajara this place has to be on your list of places to enjoy.
Classic mexican place with mariachi. The food and the service are quite good, the prices are fair. Try the plantain molotes with mole, the tortilla soup and the cochinita. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $400–500
Oh my goodness this place was fantastic. I got the chicarron norteñolet me tell you it was the best chicharron I’ve ever had. I also got the flautas which were also good and my son got the stake with mash potatoes and onion ring he loved it said it was one of the best things he’s had. The star was the chicharron for me. Service is fantastic and yes it is in the expensive side so take that in to account. Oh yes the atmosphere is also lovely.
Best mexican food, excellent atmosphere. And the place itself really enjoyable. Great for big parties. Don’t forget to get some guacamole with chicharron. Or the fried fish. Incredible taste.

Best tacos in Guadalajara. Best mexican food in Guadalajara. A local restaurant with tapatio vibe. You can fell inmediatly the good taste of the ambiance and of course, of the quality of every single dish. Traditional tapatio atmosphere with equipales as chairs. Try the chicharron, the rib eye tacos, octupus a las brasas....more more...the salsas in molcajete are the best ! I'll be back
Tase fantastic and food was delicious.30$ for all this food including the tip. A little overpriced if you ask me for GDL. I was helped quickly and servers brought me an English menu.
