This is a great restaurant to dine in before or after you visit the zoo. It's located at the entrance. The food is great and the cleanliness is awesome. The only thing need to be improve is the cashier. It is quite slow when it is time to make payment. Overall it is recommended to dine here.

Nice location with beautiful view. A balcony that overlook a small pond. The decor is simple but nice. Service is ok but food wise there are rooms for improvement. Need to use fresh products.

We ate at Restoran Mergastua after having a great time at the zoo. The food was excellent (one delicious fish & chips and one nasi goreng with chicken plus a couple of fresh watermelon juices). Staff very helpful & friendly. The manager spoke very good English & was happy to talk to us about Taiping, the rain & the very few European backpackers who come to Taiping... All in all we thoroughly recommend Restoran Mergastua to anyone who is visiting the zoo. Food louzy,slow service,pricey, arrogant staff ,Suma berlonggok di kaunter cashier borak.elok tukar owner @ management yg buleh serve food lebih enak,murah Dan cepat.location strategic.big sign board "self service" padahal takda pelanggan and busy pun .client yg dtg kmudian dpt food .saya oder nearly pelbagai food for 4 family penat gi kaunter cashier ambil sniri .dah la byk menu tak ada . Sedap Dan kenyang lagi beli food di parking zoo,murah n fresh . Meal type Lunch Price per person RM 140–160
