Love this hotel, great location central to both new/old town. Staff are excellent from reception, bar/restaurant staff & housekeeping. Restaurant food is excellent as is the service. Hotel have listened to feedback during summer ref broken tiles pool area as full refurb happening on our visit this Christmas. Back in May 24 and really looking forward to our stay. Value for money would highly recommend.
Sad to rate this but a few things lead us to a 2/5 review. |We checked in earlier which was nice but upon getting to the room our balcony lock was broken, so we headed back down to sort it to be met with a rather hostile reception staff member who said they would get the repair man to sort it but ‘he is due his luck break like everyone else’ so we would have to wait. We accept that but then had all our valuables with us. They offered the room safe which was too small (we had a work laptop), or their space behind the reception which was an obvious no as they couldn’t/wouldn’t be able to take responsibility of a £2k laptop. |Fine. We waited for the room to be sorted and went along…. |Bed time came and we made up the bed in the living room which smelt like fish as we moved it. I don’t mean a hint of an aroma, it smelt like someone had sewn prawns into the lining as a form of punishment. |Went back down to reception and the staff came up, saying they had no idea what we were smelling despite taking a good deep sniff and their eyes filling up. I’ve never been made to feel like a liar more than that moment there… apparently it was the chemicals used in cleaning!!! |The cleaning staff made this hotel. They were lovely, quick, efficient and frequent. If I could go an every holiday and take those guys with us then I would!|The location was ok, we were in a room overlooking the main road with no sun and the lovely addition of seagulls keeping us company, but coming from a seaside resort we weren’t overly bothered by that. It’s normal to us but not everybody.|The balcony door broke again after apparently being replaced, about 4 days in, but we just took everything around with us in backpacks. It worked but obviously wasn’t ideal. We just couldn’t be bothered with the judgy condescending attitudes of the reception staff again.|The food and drinks were overpriced but if you step across the road to the Net Bar you will encounter lovely service, great food and fab sangria (we went 3 times in the week!).
We arrived at the hotel early, couldn't checkin so left our bags in their storage room. First impression is clean. When you walk into reception it looks a little out dated. ||The pool tables, air hockey and tv are located in a room next to the bar & restaurant on level -1. Next to the bar and & restaurant is the outdoor pool area. ||Also ok level -1 you have room numbers 1-4 I believe||On Level 0 is more rooms and hairdressers and reception. ||We had a 1 bedroom apartment. We had a kitchen area with kettle, toaster, hobx2 and a microwave. WiFi was terrible in the rooms. ||The doubleroom was 2 single beds. They were fine. ||In the bathroom make sure you read the notices regarding the charges to the bathroom toilets and that.
Loved this hotel, the accommodation was amazing kitchen/living room with separate bedroom and bathroom. Option to dine if you want. Ideally situated with supermarket next door and within walking distance to the old town. Staff were helpful and the on-site massage therapist is highly recommended. Entertainers every night which is a plus off season. Didn’t personally like the singers Neil Diamond and Elvis as not my kind of music. Pedro the karaoke host was excellent. He had a great voice and rapport with his audiences.. Loved everything about our stay and will definitely return
Our mistake not realising the studios face the road which meant we had so sun whatsoever. Undies took days to dry and impossible to dry anything else. Challenging when we were there for three weeks. TV channels are often disconnected, however on the plus side, studio is cleanish and WiFi excellent. Reception staff superb! Ever so friendly n cheery.
We stayed here xmas and new yr just gone for 2 weeks, first time to Albufueria and loved the Paladim. Nice big very clean well equipped apartments, even had English chanels on tv (only complaint if any would be a tiny tv on wall so a bigger tv would be great but of course a lot of people dont really watch it, we like having it there for evenings we ate in apt or morning news etc) otherwise count fault it. 2 really nice bars downstairs, 1 a pub style bar but that only opened during day when we were there at weekends but other one open daily and that was a restaurant too. we didnt eat there but heard a lot of people say food was nice.|best location as a 10 min walk to your left from hotel takes you to old town and to your right to new town and the strip. plus its opposite the pingo doce supermarket which had a great cafe in there (try there pizza which you can eat there or take away, huge pizza for €9.99 with choice of 6 toppings, the amount of topping you get in unreal and best pizza I've ever had!!) you are also next door to the mall that has the continente supermarket in it which is big and upstairs in that mall is a food court with a very nice outdoor seating area .|we will definatly be back soon to stay here again 😊
Great clean hotel in a great location between old town and strip but the bar and restaurant in the hotel was very good. There is a great cake and sandwiches just turn left of the hotel and it's 500yrds on the left side great food and reasonably priced. There are some great restaurants and bars nearby. Would return.
I have stayed at the 'Paladim Alagoamar' on multiple occasions. At this stage, I can honestly say that this premises is my home away from home.||The staff are so friendly and welcoming and are always happy and willing to help you.||The interior, bar, restaurant and pool areas are all spotless clean, so I have no complaints there.||The entertainment on site whenever I am there is always excellent. In particular, I really enjoy the Karaoke nights with Pedro and/or Kris. The premises also plays host to a number of tribute acts, but I don't normally avail of these.||One minor complaint is that the premises can show its' age at times; I say this with respect to the apartments and studios on offer here. I was staying in a pool view studio in May of 2023 and it had honestly seen better days, but this is only a minor complaint.||Overall, the 'Paladim Alagoamar' is the best location to stay in Albufeira, in my honest opinion. It offers a comfy, homely location and great evening entertainment with fantastic staff and service. What more can you ask for?
I am staggered to see that people say this is their “ home away from home” - I can’t imagine where and how they live if this is the case. ||It’s a massive misrepresentation to say this is a 4* hotel - it’s a 2* at the most. Shabby, tatty and smelly we walked into our room and couldn’t believe it. It had all the charm of a bail hostel. ||We had booked a double room and it had twin beds pushed together - they weren’t even the same height . The beds just looked horrible and we made the decision to leave - we couldn’t bear the thought of staying there even if this was only a quick break for a few nights.||This might be ok for stag and hen parties that just want to have somewhere to get ready or to stay after a night drinking, but I’m afraid sad, rundown hotels like this aren’t for us. We went to stay somewhere truly lovely instead.
Do not book this hotel|Staff extremely rude||I booked this hotel for my partner’s birthday and for Valentine’s Day when we arrived everything seemed ok and looked nice enough we decided that we would book the valentines dinner in the hotel restaurant which was booked for 8pm when we arrived at the restaurant we were told that we had no booking and I told then that I had made the booking with reception and they said that they had not told them and they had given our table away two minutes before we arrived to someone then told us they would put us out side away from the restaurant to have our meal which I was not happy about and when back to reception and they called and spoke to the staff in the restaurant and they suddenly had a table available for us in side the restaurant we were moved inside and my partner was become upset as it had turned out earlier he had arranged with the restaurant staff that he was going to propose to me and had it all planned with them and he did but after that it just got worse we were left for over 2 hours with no meal and every time we asked when we were going to get our food we were told it’s coming but after 2 hours and watching the restaurant getting emptier we had enough as to speak to someone in charge and was told that they didn’t speak any English after having a full conversation with us in English they became extremely confrontational and rude towards us and as we were leaving they told us your food was ready then binned it gave no apology whatsoever for the length of time we had waited or how rude the staff were spoke to the hotel manager who didn’t give a damm whatsoever about how her staff speaks to paying guests and customers they made us feel unwelcome and that it was our fault they total ruined our engagement and we are still waiting for our apology and refund ||Totally avoided this hotel as they will ruin your time away
