We waited far too long for the food we ordered. The pasta carbonara and the beef burger were pretty good, however, the steak and rosemary potatoes were a huge disappointment. After an hour of waiting, the steak was clearly previously frozen - despite ordering medium, it was charred on the outside and basically raw on the inside. The rosemary potatoes were a joke - there was no rosemary at all. When we pointed this out to the staff, they made some excuses and said that a steak “takes longer” as it “needs resting”. Understandable, but even after resting for an hour, it wasn’t grilled properly: the end result being that despite the steak was rested, we were not. 60€ for a frozen steak with visibly raw meat is an insult, I can’t recommend this to anyone. I have to say, the waiter made attempts to make the situation better, and we appreciate the compliments of the house in form of cognac for the adults of the party. 50,- euro for a steak!! ordered 2 steaks ( in the menu for 15,- euro ) when the bill came the were over 50,- euro each.. this is not mentioned in the menu. and not been told when ordering. my son 9 years old ordered one and even then there was nobody how asked if we are aware that they charge per 100grams. in my opinion this is a tourist rip off. The price witch is mention in the menu of 15,- is what this steak is worth. so sorry that this happend. we were as a family with local friends how come here often in this restaurant. Stay away here! The best restaurant in Spisska, brilliant helpings, excellent local ale and housed a stunning location. The food is incredibly well priced and the place is always busy. The staff are superb too. If you're in town, go here!

For me the BEST restaurant in the city of Spisska Nova Ves.In the middle of this magical city this restaurant offer a lot of typical slovak foods in a subjestive ambient like a old medieval tavern!:)

Portions are really small and the prices are like in St. Moritz Switzerland. The taste is standard nothing special but the price way too much. French fries came first 10 minutes later the steak, french fries we're already cold. You can eat better and cheaper in snv. They think they are a star restaurant but they are not. If you want to pay you have to stand up go to the bar and pay there. You pay for children portions double price and you have to stand up for paying? I've never seen something like that. Great food. We had the tagliatelle with mushrooms and beef cheeks. Both were out of this world! However it was really busy around lunch (it was a Sunday after all) and service staff were overworked. Our mushroom soups came after we had already finished our mains... Also the waiter declared a tip for himself by rounding up our €28.30 bill to €30... Other than that, would highly recommend. We stopped for beer and fries. The beer was good, the menu was in English (for me) and Slovak, and the atmosphere was friendly. We had 5 beers, 2 fries, and 6 shots of Hruska (pear spirit) and the bill was less than 30 euros!
