Got the salted egg lava bun and it was hot and lava-y indeed! Definitely recommend. Food: 5
It's incredibly good hot or cold, pick an assortment of buns with English speaking staff, wait on the bench for 5 mins if you want them steamed to a pleasant hotness and softness - go to heaven with the variety of custard tastes. My personal favorites: green tea, pandan, pumpkin, black sesamy. Grab them before you go on a tour of the city to have a quick snack with some tea or coffee. It's really delicious. There are dozens of meat options, plain options, too, and breads, and even orange juice. Don't be shy, explore this amazing oasis of taste and flavor.

A tempting selection of buns to choose from. My husband enjoyed the custard bun. I packed to go the Bak Chang glutinous rice which I look forward to savoring. By the end of our short trip in downtown Chiangrai, we bought additional 6 boxes of buns for friends and family😁. The shop owner surprised us with a free box of 5 “mu daeng” pao/buns. 🤩 What a smart way of getting repeat customers😍
I've never seen so many types of Bao altogether! Most people do take away, there are a few chairs for o eat inside but there are no tables. We tried the minced pork, minced shrimp, one of the mantou and egg custard. All very yummy Meal type Breakfast Price per person ฿1–100
Exceptional buns at this shop! The pork with pepper and the bbq pork were amazing. The bean paste was pretty incredible as well. I highly recommend coming here during your stay in Chiang Rai.

The best steamed buns I've had in Thailand. The bbq buns were out of this world and the banana cream buns were unlike anything I've tasted but in an absolutely positive way. It's close enough to walking street and the night bazaar that one has no excuses to grab a bun or five.... Prices were a bargain. 10-19 baht for the ones we had, but you can see my photos for prices and selection

This is probably the best thing I've put in in Chiang Rai next to the lady boy last night.(rimshot please). But seriously usually I only see like 5 flavors, but rows and rows of flavors, vegetarian and meat eaters, savory and decadent. This place is a true gem not to be missed. I had mixed mushrooms, and taro with hazelnut both were great!. I wish they were 10 bhat not 18. But I'm probably protecting my wallet as well as my figure.

This humble little orange-walled shop has top notch dumplings with astounding variety. You walk away after trying a dozen, which is only a fraction of their menu, only to pay 200 baht in all. Great place for sharing among friends or pig out on your own. Also great pork and shrimp "pinched" dumplings ขนมจีบ
Woah! The best Sarabao (Chinese steamed buns) I've had in Thailand. Firstly, the bread was light and cooked perfectly. Second, the savoury fillings, such as red pork, were full of flavour and not full of sugar. The mushroom filling was fresh and perfectly salted. Thirdly, the sweet fillings like Banana were tasty, possibly still a slight bit too sweet for my liking. Lastly, the khanom jip (pork or shrimp dumplings) were second to none! We've since been back every subsequent trip to Chiang Rai. It's a must stop for us.
