Having seen Main Street, it's time to have a rest at this bar. Live music is played by musicians in the evening. The efficient staff meets you at Pioneer all year round. A number of guests mark that the service is decent. You are to be pleasantly impressed with average prices at this place. Based on the users' feedback on Google, this spot deserved 4.3.

We had 1 Basil Hayden's Smoked Old Fashion. We had 1 Maker's Mark Smoked Old Fashion. Fun, friendly atmosphere. We have been here before when there was live music. Loved it then too! Price per person $30–50 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My wife and I come to Fredericksburg 3 or 4 times a year. We have been to this bar many times. The old, awesome bartender is at the Velvet Lounge now. The new bartender was super rude. She acted like we were putting her out to make a drink and didn't want us there. The bar wasn't busy at all on a Saturday night. I can see why. We went to Velvet Lounge and had a great time. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

This place a nice settled down vibe on the heart of the Fredericksburg strip. Josh was a great host, very welcoming and attentive. Best service I’ve had in a while. We are looking forward to frequenting this place more often as well come through.

You can never go wrong, Pioneer is located in Fredericksburg down town. Live music plenty of sitting spot and the bartenders have it going own, very knowledgeable and creative with mixology, but this Texas fun bar also have there selections of great beers. You will meet lots of travelers and locals having a great time. The staff was friendly, respectful and fast. I enjoyed my time here ☺

Flew The Coop

The bartenders refused service because one member of our party had a valid vertical ID. It's totally fine to refuse service, but it's incredibly rude to ignore the whole group for over 10 minutes before doing so. We had to flag down a bar back to then be told we would not be served. Service: 1

If you're looking for expensive drinks, Pioneer is the place to go. $19.00 for a double Titos, $19.00 for a double Bailys (they didn't have any coffee) and $23.00 for a double Casamigos. Outrageous for middle of the day on a weekday. Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Sunday afternoon. 1 slow horrible bartender. News alert. Bartenders work for tips! Should be at least three there jo less than 2!!! Ridiculous

Waited at the bar but there was no bartender. Whoever was behind the bar said they’d be back soon but they weren’t. Wanted a drink but couldn’t get anything ordered and ended up going elsewhere. Service: 1
