It's the only restaurant in the vicinity, so they've got you, and they know it. The food, especially given the prices, is mediocre at best. When we queried a shrimp dish which was swimming in mayonnaise, we were told "that's they way they've been doing it for 40 years". Extremely rude and defensive. We'll, we're here for a week and we won't be eating there again. Good luck Pavillion Restaurant with your bad attitude in this crumbling South Coast economy. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Ordered a plate of chips, was charged R60 which I think is a bit too costly. Chicken mayo pizza is to die for! Delicious! I ordered the chicken schnitzel. Very disappointed. Two small pieces with a very thin layer of crumbs and chips. Very bland as if not seasoned. Not a sauce or even a piece of lemon for some taste. I had to add tomato sauce to eat it. Nice cocktails at around R65. Very nice view from the deck. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Pavilion Restarant thank you for being such charming hosts. The owner and manager, Claudia is such a warm and friendly person and we enjoyed our chat with her about the happenings at Margate. The waitress was tentative but not over bearing and the food was simply devine. I cannot fault this place and highly recommend dining at this restaurant 👌 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

This is a very clean, neat establishment, and the food is great. The chicken salad was a real winner. The creamy mussels needed a bit more sauce and spice. I love this marine themed restaurant 😍 the staff were friendly and the food was delicious. We had an ocean view which was just amazing. There's seating options inside or on the deck both with amazing ocean views! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch

Good cocktails and friendly service however, more than one person at our table got food poisoning from a chicken pizza . Would not recommend the food. Spent most of my holiday sick from the food . Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Service: 1

The view was spectacular - especially from the balcony. The restaurant had a very salt of the earth and relaxed vibe. The staff were really friendly although our table hadn't been cleaned. After asking, our waitress did clean it straight away which was great. Don't expect authentic thin pizza bases here - the bases are quite thick, but still delicious! The chicken liver starter was also a winner. Definitely worth visiting.
