Ranks as some of the best seafood I have ever eaten in a restaurant. And I think that says a lot considering I live in coastal Georgia/Florida USA. At home I have so many seafood options, and most of them are very good. Ocean Cellar has a classy menu and the Seafood Platter boasted a mix of fish, mussels, prawns, and calamari seasoned and prepared perfectly! I suspect it is one of the more expensive seafood restaurants in the area, but as a foreigner traveling through the area I found it very affordable. If you’re thinking about seafood tonight and $2500 Namibian for a party of four is in your price range - then you must eat here! The sushi was really delicious. At one point I did have to wait quite a while to be served. I ordered a cappuccino at the end of my evening. It wasn’t great, but otherwise everything was really nice. The view of the ocean and people on the beach adds to the experience in a good way too. I enjoyed it a lot and it finished off a good holiday. You just have to visit this place! We had oysters with different preparations (Tokyo, Barcelona and Bangkok), just the best oysters you can imagine. I already want to go back just writing this review. After that we ordered sushi and again the sushi was sooooo good. The service was also professional and extremely good. We had Malawi shandies, bread, fried calamari for starters and the Ocean view. For the main we had a fish substitute but when it came out seasoned in curry we had to send it back. Also got the fish and chips which was the local white fish, hake. We even had a little visit from a bird who really seemed to like the rice. Good service and food. We decided to have dinner at Ocean Cellar and ordered a variety of food including sushi and the grilled Tuna with a side of seasonal vegetables and Broccoli to share. The sushi was fine. The Tuna then came out with the vegetables on the same plate. This meal was to share. We ate about one third of the Tuna and some of the vegetable before we realised there were insects in our vegetables. I immediately informed the wait staff who took the plate and said let me take that for you after inspecting the insect. I told her we did not want a replacement. This was because we both just lost our appetite despite only eating one third of our tuna. She came back and said apologies from the chef and offered us a free desert. We both said no as we did not want to eat the food that clearly was not sanitary. We then asked for the bill and she said she would remove the vegetables which was only $40N. We were surprised she did not refund the whole Tuna meal as clearly we didn’t eat it after finding the insects. I then decided to cross out the tip section and we went to pay the bill. When paying the bill, she has then awkwardly asked for a tip and put us in the position to say no which was embarrassing. Absolutely horrible experience. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Interesting menu, however oysters would be best served as they are: fresh from the ocean! (without additional toppings, but that's just personal preference) Fish curry was tasty, but quite mild, and for seafood soup it would also be nice to see delicate fish or seafood broth! Visiting à capella singing band was impressive - what a great idea and incredible voices! Had a very very good experience. The staff is very polite, very attentive, very friendly and definitely very well trained. The food was very well prepared and also very well presented. The Chef knows what he’s doing. This is definitely the best seafood I’ve had in while. If you’re looking for great seafood in Swakopmund, this is definitely the place to go. The interior of the restaurant is very beautiful and the architecture as well! Indoor and outdoor seating available! They had a live Acapella group that performed that night. The overall customer service is amazing! Will definitely return. Keep up the great work Ocean Cellar! Stylish designed restaurant, nice plated fish and seafood dishes, large portions, quality wines, but a very inaccurate and sloppy service. Nobody were asked to taste the wine first, we just get the bottle. And the bottle was empty between the starters and the main course… not because we were drinking that fast, but because the service was too slow! Never mind, the prices are fair and the dishes were good The acapella-chor let us pay immediately and cancel the espresso and the dessert
