It’s a very cosy restaurant in such a freezing place. I was excited to try some local Norwegian food, especially the reindeer meat. The waiter suggested making the reindeer meat medium rare, which keeps the meat tender. It turns out extremely tasty, although it still has the distinctive smell and fishy taste of reindeer meat. It is an unique experience!

Food is ok, but Service is really really TERRIBLE. We had a reservation , we came on time and ordered, then the waitress waited for 30 minutes later to inform us that the food that we wanted wasn't available!!! We had to choose another thing, then 20 minutes after that she came back again and said finally the other food wasn't available either!!!! And we had to order the whole new things again afer 1 hour sitting there !!! 🙄 And finally after 1h30 waiting, she brought the food but it was completely another food that we didn't order at all ! 😡 how can a hospitality service be that terrible?? Gorgeous! We tried many restaurants in Tromso, including fine dining. This one was the best. The food is beautiful. The prices are good and the service is friendly. The place is cozy and cute. I‘ve read about the bad service here and unfortunately I experienced it. I had to wait 1 hour for my burger, my order was taken in about 20 minutes after arrival. I‘m terribly sorry about the bad review, a restaurant with this service quality and attitude cannot have 4.2. If they know in advance that they are overwhelmed, just communicate it and I decide to stay or go. The burger was ok though.

The food is surprisingly delicious here. I say that because, at the current rating, I wasn't sure what to expect. It's not as high as one would like, I suppose. That said, we tried the duck salad and the chicken BLT for lunch. Both were really great. Far, far better than I expected and belies the current rating his place has. If anything, the only disappointment was probably the young server who seemed a little absent-minded and not sure how to juggle more than a few things at once. He was also quite late delivering the menus to us after we had sat down (by at least 5 minutes). That aside, the food was really good and well put together, so kudos to the chef behind the scenes working that culinary magic for the customers. I'd definitely come back, if only for that. Delightful little restaurant with a small menu. Delicious options including reindeer burger and reindeer tatami that were sublime. The duck salad was also excellent. Be careful- while dining here, specially if you are a tourist. Food was okay, but service was horrible. Instead of my order, they gave me different order from menu(most costly one). On confronting the staff behaved very rudely and made us pay for it.we paid almost 500kr on top of expected bill, we never heard sorry or any regrets for such a huge blunder by the staff. Also the wrong served food had alcohol, we do not consume alcohol due to religious beliefs. Best shepherd’s pie I’ve ever had, reindeer or otherwise! So much flavor, so many textures. The potato topping was smooth and rich, with the perfect toasting of the top. The carrots and parsnips were piping hot, yet al dente. Even the three pieces of mushroom atop the pie possessed rich earthy flavors. All the employees were super friendly. I will definitely return!
