We visited midweek, so not too busy, and this new ownership from previous restaurant certainly has added a few niceties. The same delicious baked breads and snacks, but more spacious interior. Our takeaway Flat white literally took 15 mi utesfor Barista to decide to make it. (I suggest more than one for season guys), but quick lunch and takeaways were good. The rollover of tables into the well maintained gardens are VERY popular in season, so I would suggest a reservation but something for everyone.

I read some poor reviews on service. We had a different experience. It was very quiet as we got there just after 15:30. We had the butter masala chicken - there wasn't much chicken - more gravy but the flavour was good. The lamb and beef kebab was more of a kofta as it was meat minced and rolled then put on a stick - good flavours as well. The croissant looked good but it was a bit dense and lacked the flakiness. Overall we our experience was good and the service was friendly. Wheelchair friendly and lots of free parking. The surrounding shops in Old Nicks Village made this a fun visit.

The food was alright, I had a egg and bacon sandwich on sourdough bread. They use very small portions. 1 slice of sourdough used to make the sandwich. Which was not toasted correctly. I had a crossiant as well which again was ok. Was R45 for an underdone, decently big crossaint.
I had 2 cappuccinos both were good but it's difficult to mess that up nowadays with coffee machines.
My girlfriend had a Chai tea which she said and I can attest to was very good.
The issue was the Taco with goat cheese.
Man was it salty so much salt making it so difficult to eat even though it was a small portion.
Not to mention the pricing was and isn't too bad but not the cheapest. Slightly undervalued for what you pay.
The service was really poor. Having to wait for things to arrive eventually having to ask where it was. Having to wait for a server to check up on us/collect our plates and in the end asking for one. They also did not check up on how the food was or when we were finished for the bill.
Just not the best experience overall. Would've preferred a bit better service and more attention to detail with the food.
Would not recommend this place except if you'd like a coffee with a nice atmosphere and view as when you are outdoors it really feels lovely.

We stopped in for morning coffee and were besieged by flies! They landed on us and on our food and on the pastries still for sale behind the counter. I noticed a splotch of vomit on the floor behind my chair which was attracting swarms of flies. If the staff saw it they did nothing about it. Our table hadn't been cleanly wiped after the previous patrons. My partner's coffee was good but my cappuccino was luke warm and mediocre. Nice decor, but the vomit, flies and indifferent staff made this a dreadful experience.

Nice place to have breakfast or lunch. Has indoor as well as garden seating. Lovely setting within a padstal complex next to the N2. Lots of playspace for the kids and off road parking. Very popular with locals and tourists. Very close to Plettenberg Bay town.

We have often driven passed but decided to try the Nice Neighbour Cafe at the old Nick Village. We had sandwiches for lunch (haloumi and pesto on sourdough, the cuban and a bacon and egg sandwich). Everything was good but not 5s. the cuban was a bit overwhelmed by the mustard (presumably English) and as result the pork should and gypsy ham slices disappeared a bit. The haloumi and pesto sandwiches were good. A bit more of the artichoke, aubergine and courgette would have been nice. The artichoke completely disappeared and I had to check on the menu to confirm the ingredients. All round not bad at all. We are a bit more budget conscious and felt that we had some other options in town where prices are slightly lower and/or portions slightly larger. Not a major issue and most people with more disposable income would probably enjoy exploring the variety of more exotic options on the menu. We shared some desserts: the carrot cake was good and airy/light (I prefer mine slightly more dense). The pecan nut cheesecake was good. The winner was the gluten free brownie with white chocolate, which was awesome with a strong cacao flavour rather than just plain sweet (which is my preference). The flat white was one of the nicest ones in town so far, so may be lure back for dessert and coffee or to explore the more exotic options on the menu for a slightly more pricey meal. Overall the venue is nice with a large, well situated slow combustion stove, which was very welcome but not overwhelming on a rainy day.

We went there as it looked like it had a cool vibe, and its part of a cute village full of small little shops. But we were very disappointed.
It all came down to service at this place. You would think for a Monday, when its not so busy that you would at least get service.
Nope, we waited and waited to get seated at a table, and then after asking for a waiter multiple times some one was finally assigned to us. Throughout the course of our sit down, we had to ask other staff to have our waiter come to us as she didnt check up on us and was m.i.a most of the time.
We saw other people sitting down next to us, also complaining about not getting any service and they eventually stood up and walked out.
This place has such great potential but the service needs to improve majorly.
The food was really good, and in the end we were happy that we pulled through to taste the good food. We ended up having pulled pork sandwich, and the fried chicken sandwich with some milkshakes.
Friendly staff, good meal selection and great Eggs Benedict. Outdoor seating in good weather and very tastefully decorated inside seating if preferred. They sell delicious bread and selection of confectionary items. Worth trying!

Just visited this afternoon with our daughter Claire. She is 12 weeks old and was feeling hot and tired. Our waitress was Sanet and she did not hesitate to make us as comfortable as possible! Even went as far as to make Claire a little pillow bed so we could try to enjoy our lunch while she was content. Not to mention the usual nice neighbor ambiance and food as always is fantastic. So grateful to have a place like this right around the corner from us! Thank you Sanet! We will be back.

what we thought was simply another Padstal turned out to be an absolute wow, the stop is an stress breaker, the shops around the restaurant are unique and reach out to you but oh boy the restaurant is a cut above the best. we had the dirty chai and brisket croquettes with beetroot tsatsiki.
Well done Nice neighbour. The service is top class and the setting begs you to spend time here.
