À propos
The New York Café in Budapest is a fine dining spot that serves European cuisine. The establishment boasts an opulent ambiance, with gilded ceilings and frescoes that transport diners to a bygone era. The interior design is stunning, earning the café recognition as the most beautiful café in the world. Prices are on the higher end, but the experience is worth it. Located in the heart of Budapest, the café is a must-visit for those seeking luxury dining. The menu features a range of dishes, including the famous Mangalica Pork in an intensely rich sauce, Italian breakfast for two, and the Franz Joseph experience for two. For drinks, the café offers a variety of soft drinks, cocktails, and wines. The hot chocolate is a standout item, thick and rich, and served with a biscuit to dip in. The café also features live music, with a classic pianist followed by a gipsy band playing violins providing a wonderful background ambience. While the service can be hit or miss, and some dishes may not live up to expectations given the high prices, the New York Café remains a must-visit for its stunning interior design and opulent atmosphere.

It’s not worth the hype. The hot chocolate was so thick, tasted too sweet and I had to ask them to replace it for a coffee. Even the coffee is average, above all the serving table doesn’t even have a serving cloth, it’s a shame for such a great place and to the hotel. We were charged around 10€ as serving charges in the name of 2 other items. The bill was not clear. Completely a touristic trap.
Went there for lunch. There was a queue outside but we only had to wait about 15 minutes. The hostess was very warm and welcoming. Once inside the elaborate decorations on every wall and ceiling was amazing. The food was 5 star and staff were professional and friendly. My wife, teenage daughter and myself enjoyed our time there and would recommend it to every visitor to Budapest.
This is such a beautiful cafe, the decoration is so ornate it is stunning. That said, I thought the staff were quite stern, not very polite, which is shame as it took the shine off the experience. The pricing is way over the top, a bottle of sparkling water was £10. Overall spend £60 for 2 cocktails and 2 small deserts with water.

Surprisingly, didn’t wait long to get a Table. Was received by a Staff and led to the Table, from this I would say the Service was good. The place is beautiful with live Music, the food was good but I suggest to just try the Cakes and Pastries, ordered a Chocolate Cake it was delicious the type of Cake that melts in the Mouth. Well everyone wants to have a New York Cafe experience when in Budapest, this Cafe is always full, there is a live Music but the People talking and the sounds of the Utensils are polluting the Music, killing that Cafe relaxing Vibe, I would forgive that if this was a Restaurant. Anyways maybe still one on your Checklist if you are visiting Budapest.

We went to this cafe to celebrate our friend‘s birthday. Their live music was amazing. One of the violinist came to our table to play happy birthday song. Even thought line was long, we got on pretty quick. Everything we ordered was delicious. The New York cocktail was very good. Service is little slow but we had a great time.
Its all about the atmosphere at this place but it was not worth it. The cappuccino was 10 euro, and the cakes were not very good(the cheesecake especially was set with a ridiculous amount of gelatin and was served with a smokey apricot jam.) In a city full of grand architecture and excellent food this location leaves much to be desired.
All style no substance. The building is beautiful. The service, food and cost is all disappointing. 10/12 euros for a coffee. It's like. Beautiful painting has been left out in the rain. Disappointing across the board. Waited 25 mins for coffees to arrive. Unfortunately because the building is so beautiful everything else will remain to be poor as the sheer volume of people going will continue to keep it popular. Treat yourself to a walk past and go somewhere else in this amazing city. This is not worth the cost. The staff are unhelpful and you feel in the way

Must visit when in Budapest. This stylish cafe is so beautiful, people say this is the most beautiful cafe in the world. And it looks really gorgeous. We made a reservation so we could skip the enormous line. Our table was in the middle of the restaurant which gave us a nice overview. There was live music with violins. The menu has some traditional dishes but also hamburger, which makes it accessible for everyone. The musicians were trying to sell CDs at our table and the toilets were not the cleanest. Overall it was a nice once in a lifetime experience.
Beautiful beautiful experience in the New York cafe. Words don't make justice so l will post some photos instead. We didn't wait at all and the service was very fast. We had ice cream and hot chocolate with strawberry 24 karat and it was delicious. The atmosphere was superb and it was an orchestra playing some melodic music. I was thinking it would be much more expensive but it wasn't. Never had coffee in a big palace like that. Surely will come back.
Very nice place, the music, the atmosphere. We ordered lunch and hot chocolate. We didn’t like the hot chocolate at all, but the lunch was good. We paid 50$ per person. There was someone playing piano and violin. We waited 30min to be seated but it was a nice experience
