Ordered menu set A for 2, add a fried noodle as well. We were extremely starving after 4 days trail. Having a lunch here saved our life, nice and delicious, clean environment and warm service, food delivery time was very quick, basically 2 minutes per dish, (that very important for people who need a quick recovery), very satisfy with the serving size. I forgot to take photo for the pineapple chicken, that was perfect, highly recommended. 📍Location - Located in the town centre 👩🏼‍💼Service - food served quickly. Lots of staff around if you need anything 🪑Seating/Ambience - a lot of seats but it can get quite busy around dinner time. Toilet is available in the restaurant. 🍚Food - Ample portion size. Venison with black pepper on sizzling plate - my first time trying venison meat, it was surprisingly tasty. I was expecting strong meaty smell from venison but their method of cooking completely get rid of the unpleasant smell and the meat was super tender. Roast duck - Saw some reviews saying the roast duck was tasty, but it was a bit below my expectation. There are some duck hairs still on the skin. The duck skin was crispy and the meat was juicy and tender but it doesn’t give me that wow taste. I would say this dish is just above average. 💖Food recommendation - Venison with black pepper on sizzling plate Would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone with Asian food craving when travelling to Te Anau. Delicious Yong Chow fried rice and fried beef ho fun (flat rice noodles). The beef ho fun has a bit of a peppery taste to complement the soft and tender fried beef. Both dishes were a bit more oily. The service was fast. The atmosphere has a bit smoky smell. Friendly staff. Cheers! Good Chinese food in Te Anau. Very close to home taste. Except for the stir fried eggplant with fish (鱼香茄子）, it was sour compared to our used to (with salted fish). Shoutout to the stir fried venison, super good! Staffs are very friendly and the dishes were served in fairly short time given the overwhelming crowd. 배고팠는데 음식이 빨리나와서 좋았음. 세트메뉴 같은걸로 시킴. 완탕 튀김, 치킨콘스프, 볶음밥은 꽤 맛있게 먹음. 캐슈넛 치킨은 별로였고, 탕수육이랑 비슷한 요리는 괜찮음. 북경오리를 추가로 시켰는데 이건 추천안함. 개인적으로 입맛에 안 맞았음.

Pleasantly surprised by how good the food is at a tiny town in New Zealand after having really bad Chinese food in Wanaka, a much bigger town. We ordered the roast duck (5 stars, I love their twist to the Cantonese version, the sauce is very flavorful, we asked for more), stir fry beef noodles (4.5 stars), cumin lamb (5 stars), stir fry string beans (3 stars, flavor was good, the beans are undercooked). I was pretty skeptical about this place going in, but was pleasantly surprised! We ordered some fairly generic food to err on the safe side (dried beef noodle, fried rice and roast duck) and they all exceeded my expectations. Would recommend! Surprisingly good Chinese restaurant in this little town. Was skeptical about the roast duck when I ordered because New Zealand isn’t really the place where you’d expect good roast duck but it turned to be really good. Crispy skin, tender and juicy meat, and finished off with a tasty sauce. A must order. The other dishes - fried rice and bbq pork were not bad as well but the duck was really the star for us. Thank you for the delicious food here! Planning to come back tomorrow to try the sichuan dishes. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
