Visiting from another state and Wow! We loved their friendliness and charm of the store. Such a great variety to choose from. It smelled so good we started gobbling the donuts up and talking about the fun people and food in McFarlands bakery before we realized we could rate them & share a pic of the yumminess. Thus the picture of eaten donuts 😄 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We were disappointed in the two pumpkin pies I purchased for Thanksgiving but liked the pecan pie. The pumpkin pies were over-baked and dry. The filling had pulled away from the sides. They were shallow in the pie pans. They were different from the pumpkin square I had enjoyed from their bakery — the pies were not as fresh. I will not make that mistake again by ordering pumpkin pies from McFarlan Bake Shop. On the positive side is that this experience has encouraged me to pull out my recipe for my pumpkin pie and it is great. My recipe is creamy with a touch of molasses and the zest of one fresh orange. I also make my buttery pastry from scratch and blind bake it before baking with my filling. The key is to watch pie closely the last 10 minutes to make sure it comes out creamy and delicious. Really wonderful bakery.....very diverse in their variety of baked goods. Well worth the wait to get in to order. Samantha st the counter was very helpful and friendly. I bought their pinwheel rye bread, cheese Danish, chocolate chunk cookies, and a cinnamon roll. All very tasty, and very reasonable priced. Highly recommend this bakery.

Mmmm mmm mmm!! We were referred here by Zip n Slip tubing and glad we listened! the line was kinda long but we got in and out pretty quickly. We missed the Apple fritters 😔 but the strudels, cinnamon rolls and cookies are sooo good! I think this is the BEST cinnamon roll I’ve had in my LIFE!! Traditional old school bakery that are hard to find these days. The pastries, cakes and cookies are top notch! Small area to look and choose your baked goods and little to no seating but seating is available outside. I have come here since I was a young child!!! I always got to pick out a decorated cookie!!! It was always the highlight of the trip! I remember begging to get an elephant ear cookie. They were always soo big to me as a kid! I always wondered why the adults wanted the sweet rolls.😂 Now, I have graduated to sweet rolls myself, but I still enjoy a decorated cookie or an elephant ear cookie occasionally just because…we all are still a kid at heart! Go check them out when you are in the area! It won’t be a disappointment for sure! If you have kids along, let them make lifetime memories!!!

Great location, super friendly service, delicious baked goods! Absolutely loved this place. Bought a large variety of items because everything looked so good. They did not disappoint! Favorites were the cinnamon roll, cream cheese danish, blueberry cream cookie, and Scottish shortbread. Will definitely be going back on the next visit. Good but not the best. Something is missing to be the best as 5 star. We ordered a Apricot sour cream, chocolate eclairs, tea cookies and cannoli. People there are very friendly.

McFarlan Bake Shop is on our must-stop list whenever we’re on Main Street. Between the amazing Strudels, Eclairs, Cookies and Pastries it’s impossible to focus on one single item. That’s why we load up a box and take it with us to go. The Blueberry, Strawberry and Apple Strudels are what we come for. The cookies are baked fresh. The eclairs are crunchy with a rich filling and donuts are fresh as well. The lines can be long at all hours of the day but the staff works hard to accommodate everyone. There aren’t any tables inside to hunker down and eat but there are tables outside. If you’ve been on Main Street on the weekend, you’ll already know that street parking is your best option. You also have to pay for street parking as of the writing of this review so factor that in and download the Park Mobile app. Lastly, the owner is a Liverpool FC fan so that makes this place a favorite just on that alone!

The ultimate bakery! I was drawn to it when I read that they make their treats from scratch. I have always loved desserts. Can’t walk by a bakery. We met the owner. She is so nice! We tried several sweets. They were all so delicious! I was told weekends are very busy at this bakery. Glad we were visiting on a weekday so we didn’t have much of a wait. This place is truly a must! Yummy!
