At the suggestion of some foodie friends, we tried Maura Mesa de Sal located atop the Numu Hotel and the total experience was absolutely amazing. We started with a few delicious cocktails at one of the comfy seating areas. We then were seated at our table with a great view of the Parroquia and sunset.
The setting is lovely and our service was top notch but the real star of the show was the food.
We were served a complimentary smoked salmon to start which was delicious. For a starter, we had the Jalapeño Peninsula which is 2 jalapeños stuffed with ceviche served with a delicious chipotle cream sauce. Very light and tasty.
At our waiter’s suggestion we had the Oyster Tortellini and Zarandeado Shrimp as entrees. Both were fantastic!
Perhaps the best dish of all was the dessert. The Cheesecake Lima Mango was light but packed full of flavor and a perfect ending to the meal.
We have eaten at over 100 restaurants in SMA including the ones considered the best in town. I would have to say this meal ranked up there with as one of the best. We can’t wait to come back!

We actually went only because we were staying at the hotel Numu and it was raining so we didn't feel like walking into town. This restaurant is at the top of hotel (take the elevator to the 4th floor, then take the stairs up one flight). I'm so glad we went here. The food and view was great! Probably one of the few "rooftop" restaurants that you can still enjoy in the rain because it is covered. It was a little cold, but they gave me a blanket and there are heaters. I took pictures of the menu because I couldn't find it online. This place was great!

I wish I would have taken more pics of the food because everything exceeded our expectations! I generally try to avoid hotel restaurants (esp in Mexico because my husband is from Michoacán and we like to eat more like the locals when we travel) but when a couple that we were meeting up with wanted to eat dinner at the new hotel restaurant, we decided to give it a chance. We are so glad we did! Between the four of us, we had the scallop crudo (appetizer), the pork belly, octopus, catch of the day (sea bass), zarandeado shrimp, cheesecake vasco (pictured), and the chocolate mousse dessert…plus two cocktails (mezcalita and the malcriada), wine and beer.
Everything really was wonderful! Our plates were completely clean, no food leftover from any of us 😅 Ask for the smokey habanero salsa if you want some extra flavor (it wasn’t too spicy surprisingly, everyone was able to enjoy it).
If you’re in SMA and want a beautiful rooftop dinner with great food, you need to check this place out!

Vista maravillosa, atención al 101%, platillos exquisitos. 👌🏼
Maura es un restaurante diseñado en un roof del Hotel Numu. La vista de es al norponiente lo que te permite disfrutar del atardecer sin que el sol te deslumbre de frente.
Es un lugar donde puedes pasar una linda tarde dándole gusto al cuerpo, vista, olfato, oído y obvio gusto!
En cuanto a los platillos, bueno te comento que vamos a regresar por más!
En esta ocasión elegimos unos jalapeños rellenos, pulpo a las brasas y pedimos una orden de verduras asadas que no están en el menú pero nos agradó mucho que nos las pudieran preparar.
Los jalapeños son una explosión de sabor combinado el relleno suave de pulpo y pescado con lo poderoso del chile sin que el picante sea molestia.
Pasamos al pulpo que llego en su punto suave al masticar sin caer el lo chicloso con un sabor astuto y bien definido lo acompañamos con las verduras a la parrilla y juntos fue una algarabía de sabores bien ensamblados y bueno mi novia a mi nos encanta el picante así que le pusimos una buena dosis de salsa de habanero tatemado que hizo resaltar todavía más su presencia y darle potencia a la fiesta de sabores!
Todo esto enmarcado en un lugar cuya arquitectura te invita a sentirte en la sala de tu casa, cómodo, tranquilo pero elegante y con muchos detalles diseño como las mesas de piedra, las lámparas de cobre, el plafón regido que deja pasar un rayo de luz sin la insistencia solar.
De estilo contemporánea y sin cosas nuevas en el diseño lo cual es un acierto para que el mismo paisaje sea el cuadro a admirar.
Y por último pero fundamental. Una mantención impecable, nos toco que nos atendiera Alma y estuvo presente y atenta en todo momento, gracias Alma te deseamos mucho éxito!
Y no solo alma desde la entrada te reciben con una sonrisa y en valet, el
Gerente del hotel, del restaurante y todos con ese amor a su trabajo que se tramite a las manos del chef y a la degustación de los alimentos!!

Higiene pésima, si se quieren enfermar acudan ahí.
De 6 personas que comimos ahí, 4 resultaron con una fuerte infección, dos con molestias estomacales.
2 (uno de los 2 con infección) no habíamos comido junto a los otros 4.
