AVOID AT ALL COSTS. SCAM. The local driver will take you here. The tour starts innocently as a tour and it’s very informative but then it becomes a hard sell push for the massage, oils, and spices. And they get upset when you don’t realise they want a tip.
We came here for a tour of the exhibit garden which is very nice to look at. The guide, who was a cardiologist (herbal medicine) was very knowledgeable. Following the tour and explanation on benefits of a number of spices we were given a short message. Interesting amd different experience and would recommend visiting. The whole experience is targeted to sell their products but that's expected. ASK FOR DISCOUNTSN IF YOU WANT TO BUY. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Our driver took us here saying it's on the way and free. The tour was nice. They gave complimentary tea. Afterwards they took us to the gift shop. Prices were ridiculous, so we didn't buy anything. They seemed disappointed but they didn't force us to pay anything, so it was fine. I was actually interested in multiple things, I wish they sold stuff at reasonable prices.

Very bad experience. The guy starts nicely by introducing the herbs and the garden. Then he pushed us to get a massage and tip the guys who did it. In the end we asked the price for the spice tea and they told us 2000 rupies, after getting the package they charged us 5000 rupies without telling us. Price per person Rs 2,500–3,000 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
A government operated herbal and spice garden where the staff extensively explain you about the various herbs and spices they grow. Everything is 100% natural and friendly. It is also important to note that this would make it extremely expensive. There is a shop which sells their products and it is packaged to suit air travel too.

A free tour of the herbal garden by students and agronomists in the area. They provide an understanding of the Sri Lankan plants and the numerous benefits. My experience was to support the local community and a student who understands, instead of paying in USD, where you are hounded to use a guide within the national park.
⚠️SCAM ⚠️If you are dragged there by a local guide or anything, do not buy a thing. The whole visit starts really educating and interesting showing you plants, telling you about the natural remedies made from them. But it turns out to be an advertising tour leading you to the overpriced tourist scam shop - with prices 10 times higher than normal. Don't buy things, you can find in supermarket on the cheap
SCAM!!! DISHONEST The visit to the garden is nice and informative. THEN they oblige you to get a (bad) massage, even if you don't want it, and you have to pay the person who does it. They try to get you to buy products, we only bought some curry for peace of mind. At the exit the guide shamelessly asked for a tip. Just ask for an entrance fee instead. The oil they put on my skin gave me an allergic reaction and I had to take an antihistamine. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
The food in the restaurant was ok; the herbal and spice garden was interesting, but the tour is given by a quack who wants to sell you products using pseudoscientific claims. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person Rs 2,500–3,000 Food: 4 Atmosphere: 1
!Scam! Actually nice spice garden, where you get a free nice tour and "free" massage in the end. So far so good. BUT after that they try to sell you fake overpriced products, which was very bad. I realized it after buying and gave it back for refund right after. Also the guy turned angry when refunding. It's sad that it turned out like this. Rather would have paid a small entrance fee for the tour and the massage instead of the free tour but don't get scammed with the products. Was really disappointed in the end.
