Mariaan Se Koffiehuis en Ous se roosterbrood, the most scrumptious pasties, pies, bread and roosterbrood. A gem, which is on the R44, as you turn to go into Wellington is an absolute must. Freshly prepared, portions are filling and divine. Whether you dine in or take away, this place is a definite go to, freshly prepared while you wait. Reception was warm hearted, down to earth and just a plain and simple at home feeling engulfs you. All the staff were very helpful. Prices are well worth the meal, hearty and homely made "at home" take aways or to sit and devour on the spot.
Mariaan (owner), came round to our seating to welcome and have a chat, which made us feel quite welcome. Ous and her roosterbrood was equally ready to share her cooking skills and showed us what she was capable of doing in reasonable time. This is definitely one example of how we as South Africans can work hand in hand, together, to prove that UBUNTU can achieve desired results. Will definitely make this one of my favourite stops in future.

We stopped here on our way home from an overnight stay in Wellington. The assortment of pies is astounding, and the pies are absolutely delicious. R40 for a standard sized pie is a little steep though, however good it may be. We were disappointed by the lack of seating space as well as the slowness of the staff in serving us, especially the service with ice cream.
It's R12 for an ice cream cone and R20 for a cup. The cup is smaller than the cone and it wasn't even filled up. Firstly, I don't understand the massive price difference and secondly, they could have at least just filled the tiny cup to the top. We ordered cups because we have young children and it's easier for them to eat on a 35 degree day than a cone.

While on a road trip, we stopped over at Mariaan's for breakfast and coffee. Freshly baked deliciousness, rooster broodtjies, mouth-watering delights, the list goes on. The town is relaxed and the atmosphere laid back. A must-visit for anyone looking for great quality food and stopping over while traveling through.

Greatest “ rooster koek “ and the biggest variety of the most amazing pies I have ever seen. Good value for money and very tasteful. The pies are fully filled. Not only a little bit of filling with a lot air and dough. Highly recommended. Great pit stop between Paarl and Langebaan. Well done guys. Keep it up especially the” rooster koek”.
Prices are a bit on the steep side. However the food is beyond delicious and the employees are immensely friendly and polite.

We went in with a hunger to eat a cow.... We each had a Roosterkoek and went out full as can get. The people is friendly and "Ous" the lady who bakes the Roosterkoeke is snappy and a boffin in baking them on an open fire to perfection. Bought two plain ones for a snack at home.... Mmmmm jummy with apricot jam. Well done you guys.
