Solid restaurant. Everything was well seasoned and tasty (even the bread!). Had a small house red and that went down well. A minor complaint would be, although the beef was flavourful, it just had a bit more chew than expected. I'd probably eat there every other week if I lived in Kotor. Good solid place! My girlfriend and I had been in Montenegro for 10 days when we discovered this restaurant. It offered the best food by far of all the places we'd visited. The waiter, Dushan, provided excellent customer service. He was very honest about the different dishes and was attentive to all our needs. We ordered the 880-gram dry-aged rib-eye, accompanied by rice, potatoes, and grilled vegetables. The meat was absolutely fantastic: tender, full of deep flavors, and cooked exactly to our liking. The potatoes and vegetables were great. The rice was a 6/10, probably the only element of the entire meal that was somewhat disappointing. However, overall, the food was great, the customer service was excellent, and the restaurant had a good vibe. Oh, and one more VERY important detail: Those of you who have been or are currently in Montenegro might have noticed that the process of ordering food in restaurants here can take ages. It's not uncommon to order food and wait 30 minutes for it, sometimes even for dishes like pasta. Here, our food arrived in probably 10-15 minutes. That was a great bonus for us. Hope you enjoy! I spent several weeks in Kotor and will say that this is THE BEST restaurant in the city. The service and the quality of the food is all five star. The wait staff is extremely professional. It is located just a two minute walk from the gate to the walled city. They have an impressive selection of dry aged beef, as well as lots of hearty affordable dining options. This long established landmark opens early for breakfast every day. They make their own sausage and grind all their own hamburger. Best tip: get the chocolate and fresh raspberry dessert. The restaurant looked extremely put together and well kept, I was excited for the food. I was initially going to order the dry aged steak, when I almost finished ordering my friend realized the price was per 100g so my food was going to be substantially more than what I anticipated. I asked to see the steak which was 700g!!! So 7x the price on the menu. I ordered a burger instead, me and my friend were unable to eat the burger as it tasted foul. During our 7 day stay at Kotor we visited this place 5 times. I've never been to the same restaurant so many times during any other trips. They definitely have the best steak I have ever eaten. Amazing service, great atmosphere. Good prices considering the quality of the food. Highly recommended. This is by far the best place for steaks and the best service in Kotor. Han was our waiter and he was extremely professional, showing us not only that he knows everything about meat, but also that he really loves his job and he is the best. He recommended us a Porterhouse Steak with aromatic potatos. The food simply melted in our mouth and it was incredibly tasty. So, if you are in Kotor and you want to enjoy a perfect steak, you must go to Marenda. Even our host from accomodation told us that it is the best steak place around.
