We had an excellent anniversary dinner and were treated to great food and great service while enjoying a great sunset over the water. We both had a filet minion with a Marsala wine sauce that was really exceptional. We also had an appetizer of shrimp wrapped in bacon and served with a delightful raspberry sauce. "Fine Dinning" is the best phrase to describe Mare Blu Restorante. The restaurant is located on the beach with indoor and outdoor seating. The tables are beautifully set with linen table clothes, napkins, and pleasant dishes. The seafood was delicious. We ordered the octopus in olive oil as an appetizer, and its texture and taste were fantastic. The wait staff was attentive. We had a primary and secondary waiter that checked on us occasionally. The overall indoor presentation of the restaurant was modern. They have a large glass wine room filled with an assortment of wines. We have been searching for a high-quality restaurant in Rocky Point. We found this very reserved, beautiful restaurant. The beach setting at sunset was just the icing on the evening. The service was excellent from the initial drink order thru the deserts. Now, the food, each of the four of us, was very pleased with the fantastic culinary preparation and presentation. Everything was as perfect as can be. Back to the service, which was on time, but not hovering. As we wanted extras, the server, Leonel, and his team were right there, tables identified. This was a great dining experience. From the start our server Gilberto was amazing. We stared with cocktails, a Mexican candy shot,and a orgasm (shot). We shared three appetizers. Bruschetta, antipasto plate, and Octopus appetizer. The octopus appetizer was the clear winner but all were very good. The clam chowder was served in a bread bowl. While good it was not great. I will skip the soup when we visit again. The special was surf and turf. It was a perfectly prepared Filet Mignon with 2 grilled shrimp, mashed potato and vegetables. The owner came out to talk with patrons and we chatted for a bit. I would recommend this restaurant and will return each time we visit Rocky Point. One of our group sang with the piano man. This is without a doubt one of the best dining experiences I've ever had in my life. Not just in Mexico but in my life. The service was top-notch. Right on par with some of the fanciest restaurants in scottsdale. The food was absolutely delicious. The Mexican coffee was the highlight of the night. It is worth the $15 just for the show alone. We celebrated an anniversary here and really enjoyed the food. The location was a bit odd considering a rv lot on one side and a major party spot on the other. The staff were courteous, and the beach view was okay. This was one of two places we ate at that allowed us to tip on the credit card. I had a fish dish that was deliciously flavorful and very unique. The shrimp served around here is so big that it will fill you up after just a few. They were alright. Steak was okay. Drinks were okay. But they kept forgetting my drinks and they never brought me my side. I went to the bathroom for half a minute and told them I'd be right back and not to take my food. I got back and they took half my steak. They wouldn't take money off my bill even though they threw out half my dinner. They ended up giving me a cold and wet side in a box. It was really frustrating. They have potential, especially since food isn't great in Puerto Peñasco. But they kind of blew it. If it weren't for half my steak being passable, I would have put less than 3 stars. Food was medicore...ordered the special of the day "surf and turf" that was supposed to come with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Filet mignon was ordered medium rare, was definitely more rare than anything. Also ordered calamari, which was decent (definitely had better). The steamed clams were gritty and one wasn't even edible as it didn't open / or got cleaned so it was completely filled with sand when we finally popped it open. My son ordered fettucini alfredo with shrimp which he liked (not loved), shrimp tails still attached. Daughter ordered fettucini alfredo with chicken, there were only 4 small pieces of chicken in her dish. My niece ordered penne pasta with chicken and vodka sauce which was just okay. I ordered the strawberry arugula salad and added grilled chicken, again just okay. The service was okay, the waiter forgot a water and my chicken for the salad. My salad entree was brought out as an appetizer (weird) when it was the meal I ordered for myself so, it sat there for approx 30+ minutes before anyone else received their food. I told them they forgot my chicken and they brought it out (again before anyone got their food)...I sent it back as it was getting cold. Overall frustrating BUT, our waiter was pleasant which did help the overall experience. Not impressed...Won't come back though 💔 Additionally, the surf and turf and the two additional sides of asparagus we ordered for the table wasn't available. Why would you say the special comes with asparagus if you were out?! Something all waiters and waitresses should be aware of before saying what your special comes with. I have dined here many times before. The food is always spectacular. Appetizers, pasta, and steaks are all amazing. The cocktails delicious. The service is incredible along with the views. I'm I'm big fan of getting dinner here and watching the sunset. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
