It was great celebrating my cousin's birthday at Luquin's 454. It was our first time here but not our first time at Luquin's. We're from Pahoa and eat frequently at their restaurant there, as well as the original. We were happy to discover that we can get the same delicious food and excellent drinks at their newest facility.

This is my friend's favorite place to eat and I definitely see why. Chill vibes, great service, delicious food. They didn't even roll their eyes when I asked for white tequila in my margarita 🤣💓 With a great price point and friendly staff, I'm sure I'll eventually recover from my old favorite in Hilo closing a while back. 🖤

In my search of decent Mexican food on the island, Luquin’s 454 was recommended to me by several locals. Traditional Mexican fare. The veggie enchiladas were great. And the classic margaritas were made to order. Not bad for a Saturday night out with the kid.

Absolutely awesome staff! Friendly, helpful and just plain entertaining!
Atmosphere was welcoming, warm and open.
The food was incredible!
Salsa was a little on the spicy side for me, but our waitress recommended adding sour cream to help me and it did, it was perfect.
We ordered the Chili Rellenos plate with sauce on the side.
The Rice and Beans were tasty and hearty. But the Rellenos were perfect! Just the right amount of crispy fry on the egg batter and the cheese melted amazingly. The chili was cooked to perfection. Not soft and gushy, but just the right amount of textural give to make the perfect mouthful.
The had in house Churros with a house-made Caramel sauce.
I was full, but I couldn't resist this awesome tasting dessert.
I swore the next time I would start with dessert then order my meal lol.
All in all an incredible experience, will definitely be back!

This is a 4.5 rating. I will eat here again. The service, atmosphere, Impressive. The visual appeal can possibly use some improvement. The food I ordered was a bit on the dry side yet tasty. I appreciated the first order of free chips and salsa. Great salsa.

I recommend the Chili Rellenos, I like the sauce on the side.
If I don't eat it all, I just place it in the airfryer, and it cones out nice and crispy.
